We are currently working on adding in support for 3rd party encounters, afflictions, fates, items, and foods.
If you opt into the beta branch, you will now see a new directory in StreamingAssets called mods. The plan is to allow users to paste in folders (such as the current sampleMod) into this directory, and as well as the data is all well-formed, it will be loaded into the game on startup by iterating through each mod folder and parsing in all the json files.
We're still relatively early in this process, but if anyone wants to start picking around or reading through the help files in it that we're working on, now's a good chance to start!
Be aware that the mods directory will eventually move out out StreamingAssets and into the same directory where save game files are kept: AppData\LocalLow\Blue Fairy Media LLC\The Exile of Aphrodisia (2023)\ .
Also be aware that we currently have no support yet for player forms / transformations / epilogues, cursed artifacts, scavenging events, instincts kick in events, or NPCs. Item graphics are also not yet supported. We will work on supporting these in later updates.
As always, back up your games before you opt into beta or try to mess around with modding.
Stay tuned for more!
