Hello Rebels,
Today is a big day for us at 5-Fortress. Over the past 4 months, we’ve been working tirelessly to bring you a completely new experience in Striden. An experience you can jump into whenever you want — alone or together with others.
Try to survive in the harsh Scandinavian wilderness, where danger lurks around every corner.
🆕 New Game Mode — Survival
You’ll need to make sure you have enough food and water to stay alive. Keep track of your nicotine needs, while also searching for the resources required to defend yourself.
Build your own camp where you can feel safe — at least for a while. Store what you find, and make sure to secure a bed so you have a safe respawn point if the worst happens.
💾 Persistent Progression
Remember that your progress is tied to the server. This means that when you leave, your inventory and the base you’ve built will be saved.
🔄 Weekly Server Resets
Each week, the server will reset — making it a fresh competition to see who the ultimate survivor is.
We’ve also added an initial version of a leaderboard, so you can keep track of who’s currently the top survivor.
🤖 PvE Gameplay
Out in the world, dangers await that you must learn to overcome — including hostile soldiers, helicopters, armored vehicles, and guard dogs.
The forests are also home to wild animals that can be deadly if you don’t treat them with respect.
⚔️ PvP Encounters
You’re not always alone.
At any moment, you might encounter another survivor. How you handle that situation is entirely up to you.
We highly recommend using a microphone to communicate — it might just save your life.
🎯 Complete Missions
In the rebel village, a few survivors have locked themselves inside their homes. They’re very interested in what you find out in the world — and they’re willing to pay well for it.
Keep an eye on available missions. Sometimes, they offer rewards you won’t find anywhere else.
🗺️ Explore Striden’s Largest Open World Map — Fjäll
We are proud to present our biggest map yet: Fjäll.
Set near the Finnish-Russian border, high up in northern Sweden, this rugged landscape offers a challenging wilderness with only sparse civilization.
But there’s plenty to discover — hidden military bunker systems, camps, airfields, farms, industrial areas, and much more.
This map will continue to evolve over time, with new areas being added as development progresses.
🌦️ Dynamic World
The world of Fjäll features a dynamic weather system and a full day-and-night cycle.
And yes… when night falls, it gets dark.
⚠️ Temporary Mode Changes
We will also be temporarily disabling Transmit and Kontrol during the weekend, as we want full focus on our new game mode.
Don’t worry — both modes will return to the game after the weekend.
We will also be disabling matchmaking for now until we’ve got it working as intended.
For the time being, you’ll need to use the server browser to join games.
🔧 Changes Affecting Other Game Modes
Sniper rifles and semi-automatic rifles now use projectile-based ballistics instead of hitscan.
Added new key bindings for certain functions.
Bugfixes and tweaks
We can’t wait to see you all jump into the new game mode. We see this as a fresh start — a new chapter to bring Striden back to life.
