Hey all rebels!
The time has finally come for those of you who aren’t in our Discord yet to sink your teeth into our brand new PVE/PVP game mode: Survival an open-world survival twist on Striden. We’ve already run a few earlier tests with players from our Discord, so if you don’t want to miss more opportunities like that, we highly recommend joining.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been working day and night to put together a solid playable version of this new mode. Since this is an extremely ambitious new direction for the game, it will take time to reach the state we ultimately want. Our plan is to release the new game mode at the end of March, and then keep building on it from there. By the end of the month we aim to have a strong foundation that’s playable and fun.

So what have player reactions been so far? Simply put: very positive. Many players have told us that Striden has finally found its true home. As developers, we feel the same way — it really feels like we’re onto something that could attract a much broader audience.
That said, tonight’s test will be more of a stress test than a pure gameplay test. We still have a lot left to do, but stress tests give us valuable information about what we need to improve, especially in the network code. So be prepared for things like laggy vehicles, servers potentially crashing after a while, and other rough edges.
But be prepared to get lost in a vast open-world mountain landscape in the Swedish wilderness. Aggressive Soviet soldiers, guard dogs, and surveillance helicopters patrol the area. Wild animals like bears and moose roam the dense forests—and if you’re lucky, you might witness the northern lights from the top of a mountain.

You’ll need to make sure your soldier has food and water in their stomach, keep that nicotine craving balanced, and gather the resources needed to build your own base. From there, you can venture into more dangerous locations in search of better weapons and equipment.
Oh, and one more thing, there will also be other players out there. Just as desperate to survive as you are.
So dust off your microphone, because you’ll likely need it to negotiate your way through some very tricky situations.
