2 new maps incomming

The release of our upcoming content patch is getting closer – packed with tons of fresh and exciting content to dive into at the end of September.

Today, we’d like to share more about the work behind our two new maps that will be released.

Let’s start with Souppat, our brand-new Transmit map.

Souppat is originally a reworked version from our COOP mode. But don’t think we just threw in three extra Stronghold houses and called it a new map - oh no, that’s not the case.

Together with our Discord community, players got to help decide the placement of the Strongholds, vote on the lighting, and wow… it’s shaping up to be a truly atmospheric experience. Every area of the map has been carefully tweaked to deliver a great Transmit experience, and some parts have been completely redesigned.

For those who haven’t tried COOP in Striden, Souppat takes place in the Swedish inland near the Norwegian border. The map is filled with Scandinavian forests and narrow winding forest paths surrounded by mossy cliffs. Hidden within the woods, you may stumble upon military camps packed with valuable loot or run into Soviet-occupied zones. It’s not the largest map, but it offers some breathtaking views.

Our biggest highlight, however, is the premiere of a section from our brand-new map, Nuke-08.

As mentioned earlier, Nuke-08 is built entirely for our new game mode, Kontroll which, as many of you probably know, is essentially a Domination-style mode.

Since Nuke-08 is an extremely large map, we’ve chosen to split it into sections to design each one for the best possible gameplay experience. Designing a map for Kontroll is a whole different approach compared to Transmit. The map needs to be well-balanced, allow for strategic flanking around enemies and flags, and feature brighter lighting to make enemies easier to spot, quite different from Transmit’s more atmospheric survival-game theme.

The first section of Nuke-08 takes place in a classic park setting. Here, battles between the Swedish army and the Soviet army were suddenly abandoned due to radioactive fallout. The traces of this battlefield remain scattered throughout the park, creating natural cover and opportunities to push forward toward the objectives.

Our second section, arriving later, will take place inside a shopping mall. That’s right, Striden is finally getting its very first indoor map!

We’re super excited for our upcoming content patch releasing at the end of September! Our team is working hard to bring back old players and welcome new ones as we launch this update. So don’t forget to set a reminder for September 29th, let’s bring Striden back to life together!

We can also share that our brand-new game mode is being playtested internally every single day and it’s already a blast to play!
