On the eve of the invasion of Gasco, Supreme Commander Hax of the Berman Imperial Army showers as if purifying himself for what is to come.

Hax

It's been a long road... But I've made it.

Though Hax may have felt it a long road, his promotion to Supreme Commander and leader of a major campaign at just forty-two is an achievement few in history could match.

Hax

Now I can return the Lost God to the Berman Empire...

Hax recalls the picture book his grandmother read to him when he was a child.

Child Hax Grandmama, read it to me again.
Grandmama Hahaha, you really do love this book.
Child Hax So, the Lost God punished the Devil that the evil beings made and then fell asleep.
Child Hax Then, when men forget the bad things and become happy again, God will come back, right?
Grandmama Yes, that's right. So, you need to be a good boy so the Lost God will return...

Hax ...
Hax I will bring the Lost God Vanargand back to Berman...
Hax Then, the Berman people will live in harmony forever as God's children...
Hax Grandmother, I will become the hero to lead the people.

The whisper of a woman's voice escapes the radio in Hax's study, wrapped in static.

Radio

That's right... You are destined to be the hero... Awaken the Vanargand...
