Patch 1.0.21.2, "Old Faithful", is out now.
This update is about missions that finish. Every bomber mission now ends by itself, in both Bomber Captain and Squadron Commander, and when the time skip stops it tells you why. Alongside that, aircraft now cast real shadows, and the airbase files have been sharpened up.
Missions that finish
The bomb run always ends, the squadron rallies and lands once, and the mission waits for stragglers flying home.
Damaged bombers, including the last one in a formation, leave and head for home.
Lost bombers count as lost. A bomber whose crew has bailed out, or that is down in a field, goes down, and ghost bombers never hold up a mission.
The bombardier closes the bomb bay doors and turns the bomb panel off after every run.
From bombs away until the rally, Return to base, Go around and Divert can't be ordered. With nobody at the lead navigator's station, the formation still turns at its waypoints.
Time skip
Every stop gives its reason, and a wounded crewman no longer stops it over and over.
Fixed a rare crash when a mission ended during a time skip.
Shadows
An aircraft's shadow now falls where the sun puts it, in the aircraft's real outline, soft at the edges and as dark as the hills' own shadows. It fades as the aircraft climbs and is gone at night. Watch your bomber's shadow slide off the runway at take-off on an early summer morning. The bomber walkaround is now lit at midday.

Airbase files
The airbase files have sharper pages, each sits on its office's own 4K picture, and every click turns a page.
Navigator's map
The fuel colours now allow for lost engines, and editing the route no longer makes the navigator skip waypoints.
Front end and other fixes
Buttons highlight as you move over them, and work with a gamepad.
Sharper 2-D screens, and the cut-scene pictures now fill the screen.
Fixed crashes when starting a campaign after loading a game, when loading a campaign saved before its first mission, and with Squadron Commander's replacement bombers.
Known issue
In Squadron Commander, if you pick a bomber in the Mission Aircraft File and then scrap it, the squadron can be left a bomber short, and the game may crash at take-off. Until it's fixed, avoid scrapping a bomber you've just assigned to the mission.
Thank you to everyone who tested the betas.
