With the Early Access release less than 24 hours away, I thought I'd make a post with some tips and tricks that showcase different game mechanics.
- Sort your Inventory by Lifetime to figure out which items are expiring soon. This will help in planning what to cook or eat next, or see which mercenaries need their contract renewed.
- Carrying a little too much after a big haul? Drink some alcohol to gain the Overconfident status, increasing your carry weight for a limited time! Drink multiple bottles for a stronger effect...
- A Plastic Bag is useful for collecting water, but can also be equipped to increase carry weight in a pinch.
- Repeat actions or crafts by holding the mouse down and swiping right - saves you clicks for some tasks.
- Not sure what a Status effect does? Hover over it in the character screen for details.
- Fruit trees will replenish their harvest after a few weeks. Keep an eye out for bountiful hexes with lots of fruit!
- Equipping mercenaries and settlers will make them join you in combat, as well as increasing your scavenging speed.
- Overwhelmed by looting bandits? Use terrain and line of sight to your advantage, divide and conquer!
- A ranged weapon is much less effective when adjacent to the target. Charge at ranged attackers with your melee weapons to turn things to your advantage.
