July 15th will be PunjiVR's 4th birthday, which means that I have been working on it for nearly five years now. Version 1 had 15 major updates until it was replaced by Version 2 last year, which has nearly 9 major updates out.
In other words...
I've spent a lot of time on this project.
Since day one, this has been a purely passion-driven game. I've spent literally thousands of hours on it solely because it's been something that I enjoy doing, and it's a game that I wanted to see in the world.
Unfortunately, I have been getting burnt out from it for the past few months, and that passion + joy that I used to get from working on it is no longer there. For my sake, I cannot continue to develop PunjiVR at the scale that I have planned, nor with the intensity I have expressed in the past. That's the short of it.

[Changes, as of July 25, 2026:]
I've removed the Early Access label from PunjiVR, I've lowered the price, and I've added a note to the store page explaining the game and its history.
There are no promises for any future content or updates.
If I'm in the mood to work on the game, I will, but even after a full-month break, I can't find the motivation or discipline to even open Unity. I'm at the point with this project where I need to be realistic with myself and with you all.
I'm sorry that I'm not able to deliver on the many promises I've made over the past years, but it's time for me to move on.
I'm proud of what I made, and I hope that it's content and features can inspire future VR developers, games, and ideas. The true joy of this project, however, has been the amazing community that joined and supported me on the 5-year journey. You all are the main reason why the project even lasted as long as it did, so thank you all for that.
Hopefully you can still find some joy with the game for what it is. And like I said, I might pop in every once and a while if I get the urge to add a new gun or something, but judging by my motivation and schedule, the best choice for me right now is to officially let go of PunjiVR.
I'm sorry.
But I hope you all can understand.
A last, huge thank you to everyone who stuck with the project and helped out in its development. PunjiVR wouldn't have been anything with you all!
