Final update information

Welcome Knights and Princesses,

Here we are on the final stretch before release. We are now hunting for bugs, rewriting parts of the code for optimization, balancing numbers, upgrading AI behaviors, and making everything look much nicer.

As Robber Knight will be our first released game, we want it to be truly special. We are leaving no stone unturned.

We are upgrading every element of the game, starting even with the selection of your crest. We have added over 100 new crests and improved how they look in-game.

We are also taking care of details such as artwork for loading screens.

As you can see, it is slowly becoming what you would call a real game. Now to the really interesting parts.

Reworked Character Development Trees

Character development now works in two ways:

  1. Classic style – by completing quests and fighting, you receive experience. As you gain experience, you level up and earn learning points, which you can then spend on strength, agility, intelligence, or vitality.

  2. Learning by doing – we added four masteries. Each levels up at its own pace depending on different activities. Within every mastery, you have three skill trees that grant useful bonuses, and every five levels you can choose one of two special skills to develop your character according to your favorite playstyle.

This system gives you interesting decisions to make and full control over your character’s development, while at the same time not forcing you to grind. But if you prefer, you can of course do so.

In total, you will have 132 special skills to combine and shape your character to your playstyle.

Over 100 New Weapons

Swords, two-handed swords, maces, axes, spears, halberds, bows, crossbows, and shields — in short, everything a medieval robber requires to make a living.

I am also working on new armor, but there is still one thing I need to learn before I can make it happen.

Horses

They are ready, but I want to show them to you first in a full cavalry charge, most likely in the full version promotional videos.

I will stop here so I can still keep some surprises up my sleeve for the premiere. Our internal progress bar shows 20% for the “polish your game” phase, and we are gaining about 10% every 1.5 weeks. I think July is a safe date to announce.

Maybe sooner, maybe later — we have worked on this for so long that releasing a half-baked product now, would be a mistake. As we like to say, it will be ready when it is ready.

Have a great day,
Your scribe and developer,
Sartorian
