Nikko Update is here!
Our new Nikko update is here and brings three major features: highscores to finally show off your skills to others (and challenge yourself), seeds to recreate and share planets, as well as the secondary biomes being now available for the Horizon Drafts!

With the arrival of high scores, we thought it would be nice to put you to the test. We follow on Discord your amazing synergies and numbers of the Weekly Challenge, but do you think you have what it takes to really master Reus 2? The Monks challenge you today, and if you overcome this challenge, you might get a reward: new biotica for all!

THE RULES:
Every player can enter their score on the dedicated Google Sheet and in the Steam discussions in the comments of the dedicated post. When you improve your score, you can edit your original post to update it with the new score. Post a screenshot of the highscore-list element (from the new Planet Overview) in the dedicated Google drive, you'll find the link in the Google Sheet tab. Name your screenshot with your player name so we can identify you;
To participate, you need to enable the Challenge Emblem (or above) in the Session Profile. This means that in the Start New Session UI, the button with the image should show the correct image like this:
The challenge is divided into 2 tracks:
Track 1 is the Rainforest track - play with any Swamp Giant, Savanna Giant and Rock giant
Track 2 is the Taiga track - play with Forest Giant, Ocean Giant and any Frost Giant
Each track has a biotica to win: The Mandril (Rainforest Track) and the Snow Monkey (Taiga Track)
You CHOOSE only a single track, and you submit for that track only. If you want to switch tracks, you can, but you should revoke your score for the first track.
If the total score for a track exceeds 25 000, you unlock the Bioticum for that track for everyone and it will be added in a free update (so it's kind of all of you VS the Monks)
Playing with the Titan Emblem doubles your contribution!
Notify us if you replaced your score by editing your original score in the Google Sheet
Don't hesitate to also share your screenshots in the thread of the dedicated Steam post so we can comment on it and discuss it with everyone!
A lot of rules but it is the price to pay to get two new free biotica... That is, if you succeed in this mission! Feel free to ask us any information regarding this contest in comments or on Discord! The challenge ends on December 4th!

As the title suggests, it is time to announce our third DLC: the Grasslands! Hope you are excited for what’s to come (I think some of you might be interested by this new biome…).

Bring the world's vast grasslands to your Reus 2 planets. Start fires to strengthen the biome. Bring new spirits to your planet, and complete new challenging Turning Points!

ADDED:
A new Planets screen to see your planets and highscores!
Steam Friends Leaderboards, to compare your scores with your friends!
Seed recreation & Sharing, each planet configuration now has a ‘config key’ which includes its random seed. You can copy and paste those, or recreate them from the Planets screen. Use this to share your planets, or replay seeds from others.
You can now play Horizon Drafts with secondary biomes!

[ICE AGE] Svalbard Reindeer to replace the Caribou

GAMEPAD & STEAM DECK
This update adds official support for gamepads and the Steam Deck.
The game automatically detects when its played on Deck or a gamepad is connected and switches to the appropriate control scheme.
Many changes to UI composition when UI Scale is at 130%, which is selected by default for Steam Deck.
On UI Scale 130%, the player can increase small font sizes, enabled by default.
Option to disable gamepad detection completely. For when you want to keep playing the PC-control scheme on Steam Deck
BALANCE:
Fox power up to 15 from 10.
Potato power to 25 from 15, maxes out at 3.
Caribou, Red-Backed Vole, Rowan, Blackberry and others - no longer have base food output.
Dove gives mystery instead of food.
Rebalanced T2 cohorts to be more synergetic: Cranberry, Nephrite, Ptarmagin, Red Cardinal.
Mouflon gains +60 food and for each Undergrowth in Biome (max 4)
Silver grants +60 gold per adjacent Science bioticum
Granite triggers on Animals and Plants, and also gives +1 Rugged per set.
Strawberry now gives food for each Undergrowth on the Planet, and makes all Undergrowth in biome give Rugged.
Tourmaline now generates critter and gem tags from adjacent critters.
Planetshop scales up further.
River now yields +3 Biodiversity for the plant on it, and also boosts Mystery.
Sanctuary no longer triggers double cost.
Cafe and Sushi Bar gain +25 Food per stack
Jam Maker down to 0.8 food per food found in Fruits.
Orange Biodiviserty cost up frm 6/14 to 8/20
Tweaked food costs for Eon a bit when on high numbers
All T3 Monkeys are now advanced.
Interpretation Center works a bit different, boosting animals in general, and scaling with more animals.
[WETLANDS] Mosquito slowly raises cost.
[WETLANDS] Celestine second placement up to 20.
[ICE AGE] Permafrost second placement up to 12.
[ICE AGE] Glacier now only works on unique plants.
Invasive Species no longer blocks other natural features from being placed.
