The Custom Hobo Demo has been officially released! We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed writing these patch notes.
Content
Added new job-specific sprites for certain pieces, so you can flex your fit in an appropriate style.
Added a "Bumper block" object to the editor. Try to recreate Pinball. (you think it's a joke, but it works).
Added liquor, beer, and wine bottles to the editor, for your drinking pleasure. Take that, ESRB.
Features
You can now enable anonymous gameplay stats in the settings menu. It's disabled by default. If you enable it, it'll provide us helpful feedback, so definitely consider turning it on!
Levels now show a "splash" screen that introduces the level in style.
The mission map got a glow-up (literally) - it's been redone to really "tie the room together" and make
the world feel more real.
Climbing is now "physical". Any hobo with at least one arm nub can climb ladders and grab ropes - just like real life.
Level Objectives are now shined up and made cooler looking, so you can complete objectives with an even more obvious and delicious emphasis than before.
Wind physics is upgraded and is now more "windy."
Guns now have a subtle, tasteful muzzle flash
Melee weapons now have a subtle, tasteful charging animation (replacing their previous unsubtle, tasteless charging animation)
We've juiced up the victory screen and the victory screen flow to make it even flow-ier and look nicer. Co-op players will now be pitted against each other in the Biomass Rankings. See which of your friends is best at grabbing those gloppy nuggets.
Rocket Skis now have a Rocket Booster instead of a Rocket Thruster. You'll know the difference when ya see it.
We've refurbished the notification pane, it looks nicer and works better with lots of notifications on screen at once.
Editor
You can now browse the Steam Workshop ingame. See the (customized) world - all while never leaving the comfort of Custom Hobo.
You can now tag custom levels with Steam Workshop tags from within the Editor. Tag away with impunity.
Custom levels have better validation now, so it's harder to save a level that won't work properly.
We've redone the interface for how objects are edited. Triggers and complicated data like hobo speeches should be a lot easier to edit now.
The editor now supports undoing more operations than it did before, for those revisionist history fans out there.
Editor objects now have visible resize and rotate controls
Rich text is even easier to edit and add special effects to now.
Misc
Every sprite in the game got new, more accurate polygons added to it. Collisions are 1000% real life accurate now (1000% is an estimation. Don't sue us.)
Bugfixes
Controller disconnection and reconnection works better than ever before.
Fixed a few different issues that were causing hoboes to get their legs stuck in the ground
Fixed an issue that made mech arms hard to aim
Fixed an issue that made the robot copters from the copter torso collide with platforms it shouldn't
Fixed an issue in which hoboes were allowed to bypass doors by grabbing them
