This is Carlos reaching out to you today on the latest news around Resistance 204X. I’m new to Julio’s team at Yaga Studio, the studio behind Resistance 204X, and I know it’s been a while since the last newsletter. That being said, it's time to go full disclosure: Resistance 204X is coming sooner than you might think. We are aiming to release the game in Q2 2027. That’s also thanks to our latest federal funding from Germany's Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space and Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung as part of #gamesförderung.
So what’s new since you last heard from us?
Julio is super busy working on arenas currently. We’ve got 7 stages and 4 (+ a secret one) of 11 characters ready by now.
Our latest character addition is Jaguar. In the ring, Jaguar combines devastating boxing power with dirty street tactics and self-engineered combat gear, turning every match into chaos. Fast hands. Heavy hits. No wasted movement. You find a full character breakdown by Julio and me here:
And of course: Gamescom 2026 is ahead of us.
Especially I have been busy organizing everything for the booth this year. To celebrate this year’s edition, we decided to release a Gamescom Trailer showing the latest development, et voilà!
Where do you find us at Gamescom? Our stand is situated in the Home of Indies area (Hall 2.2 A060g). We got some merch ready like stickers, buttons and awesome sticker tattoos 😎 But that’s not all!
Yup, we’ll be holding a Resistance 204X tournament at Gamescom on Saturday! Come by, join for the battles or just enjoy the show. We can’t wait to see you! ✌️
