What is Top Dogs Turf Wars?
Before I tell you what Turf Wars is, let me fill you in on what Top Dogs is (because it’s important.) If you joined us back during Steam Next Fest, you likely joined one of the many creator clans available in ASCENDANT. We partnered with creators of all sizes from all around the world to put their name into the game and invite their communities to support them.
If you joined a Top Dog clan you would receive creator decals for you to represent on the back of a leather jacket or totally radical sunglasses. Once you did that, you would be thrown into 2 leaderboards - clan and global. Your clan leaderboard would show who in your clan was the most valuable community member based on kills, assists, and biocore captures. The global leaderboards would show Top Dog clans with the highest score total.
So what are the Turf Wars? Turf Wars is the competitive battleground between Top Dogs. Creators are now incentivized to not only try to reach the qualifiers, but they’re encouraged to bring in as many players as possible into their clan. And the best part is that this tournament doesn’t require you to be a creator to participate in the finals. Anyone can earn a spot in the finals.
Prize breakdown:
- 1st place - $1,250 (each player: $625)
- 2nd place - $900 (each player: $450)
- 3rd place - $750 (each player: $375)
- 4th place - $600 (each player: $300)
Underdogs prize pool
The chance to win doesn’t stop for those who didn’t make the cut (this time.) as we have prizes for the top 50 placements (5th - 50th). The Underdogs event kicks off November 22nd and ends November 24th at server shutdown times.
Underdogs will work differently from the Top Dogs program. We’ll be distributing prizes to the top 50 global leaderboard holders. Underdogs will compete against their Top Dogs as well to try and earn their spot in the leaderboard - a literal free-for-all.
These brackets will be managed separately from the qualified Top Dog brackets.
Prize breakdown (per player):
- 1st: $150
- 2nd to 5th: $100
- 6th to 10th: $75
- 11th to 20th: $50
- 21st to 50th: $25
Bracketing
Here’s a breakdown on how brackets will work for Top Dogs so please read carefully on how this benefits both Top Dogs and clan members.
Tiered brackets (1-3)
The goal of Top Dogs is to empower creators with a game that will build community, relationships and the best fucking game possible (amongst many other verticals here.) our creator pool comes in small, medium, and large sizes, ensuring these creators have a chance at the prize pool. We will be putting creators in pools based on their ccv (found via sullygnome) so that way all creators in those pools aren’t going to be outnumbered by larger creators.

How to qualify / earn points / leaderboards
Competing is as simple as just playing the game. That's it. Lets keep this short and sweet.
How to qualify
Play ASCENDANT starting November 8th
- Queue only in battle of the biocores
- You will not earn any points in bot matches
The top players in a top clan of each bracket qualify
- Qualifying teams 4 teams total
Tier 3
- Top Dog clan owner
- Top 3 players of clan
- *2 additional tier 3 players will be able to compete in qualifiers
Tier 2
- Top Dog clan owner
- Top player of clan
Tier 1
- Top Dog clan owner
- Top player of clan
The clan creator will receive an automatic advancement to the finals. If the creator wishes to pass their spot to the 2nd highest clan member they are qualified to.
Qualifying clans will be announced as soon as possible - likely the next day.
How to earn points
- Biocore captures - 25
- Kills - 1
- Assists - 1
- Creators receive a 2x multiplier for all leaderboard contributions
Finals
- The Top Dog finals will be held on November 22nd.
- A total of 4 teams will compete against each other in a private match against one another.
- 2 tier 3 teams
- 1 tier 2 team
- 1 tier 1 team
- Teams will play a total of 4 matches.
- Each match post-game report will contribute to scores as a team
- Scores at the end of all 4 matches will determine their placement.
How do I get started?
Top Dogs (creators)
If you participated in our Top Dogs program during Steam Next Fest, you should have received an email from us asking you to complete the Top Dog form, supply your logo, and get final approval from us.
If you have not applied for Top Dogs and would like to join, shoot us a DM on Twitter or Discord for a hook-up.
Clan members (players)
Whether you’re a die-hard community member or a general player - access to this tournament is as accessible to you as anyone else.
Step 1. Download ASCENDANT
Step 2. Complete your character onboarding (character creation, opening video.)
Step 2.1 If you’ve played with us before, your progress from Steam Next Fest will carry over to this beta, so ignore step 2.
Step 3. Join a Top Dog clan by pressing ESC. And clicking leaderboards.
Step 4. Search for the creator you’d like to support, or scroll through the creator list for a new creator you’d like to support
