I'm delighted to announce the release of both the Early Access (v1.9.24, stable) and Playtest (v2.0 beta, mostly stable) versions of Manhattan! Free to download and use on Steam.

⠀
Manhattan v2 Beta (Playtest version) includes:
- High definition graphics - a completely reworked UI supporting scalable graphics with Retina and High DPI support, including a new DirectX hardware-accelerated graphics engine on PC.
- Horizontal Mode - prefer to think laterally literally? Switch between the default vertical timeline of trackers, or horizontal timeline of conventional DAWs.
- New waveform and piano roll visualisations - make beautiful music, make music beautiful. Press $ on your keyboard or the status bar to cycle between edit mode and mesmorising visualisations of the patterns and processes your music.
- Improved DAW plugin support - use Manhattan in your creative process, as a VST/AU instrument inside your favourite music tools. Windows version introduces a dual-window approach; pattern overview in the host, pattern editing in a separate, maximisiable window. Developed using REAPER, but tested in a handful of other hosts - please feedback experiences with yours!
- New font and light/dark UI theme - select the scheme that suits your eyes (or time of day) - white-on-black (Dark mode) or ink-on-paper (Light mode) - with Manhattan's new 'handwritten' take on the classic DOS font.
- Native support for Apple Silicon - now a Universal Binary, Manhattan takes advantage of the CPU and GPU features of M1, etc., while continuing to support Intel and older machines. Please feedback on graphics performance for your machine - Apple changed a lot in recent macOS versions.
- Over 100 other improvements across workflow, graphics, UI, audio, MIDI import, help documentation, and more.
So please download/update, tell your friends, and let me know how you get on!
