👋 Góðan daginn, warriors!👋
Today, we will blow the dust off the ancient bestiary of the world of Gimle once again and take a closer look at the enemies that sow fear and uncertainty in the hearts of even the bravest adventurers. Their massive silhouettes and contorted faces are a truly terrifying sight, heralding an imminent battle.
In order to defeat such a powerful enemy, you must first get to know him! That is why our scribes wrote down all their knowledge about Aptrgangras, who are sure to stand in your way as you travel through the world of Gimle. Let's see what they have prepared for us!
Who are the Aptrgangras
The good place to start will be letting you know, that the Aptrgangras are part of a larger group of undead known as the Draugrs. However, mentioned Draugrs are much smaller and simply weaker than Aptrgangras. Each Aptrgangr was in life an exceptionally large man or had some other unique powers. In addition, Aptrgangras are known from their great aggression and impressive combat skills, the neglect of which may turn out to be a critical mistake.
They are driven by the insatiable desire to inflict pain, suffering and need to kill all living beings. The more victims they kill, the stronger they become, consuming their life energy. Aptrgangr can often be seen in the company of the more numerous and weaker undead he leads.
Appearance
At first glance, Aptrgangr looks like a very muscular, tall man. As a result of the dark magic, the bodies of these creatures grow to unnatural sizes, making them larger and more massive than almost all mortals. Their skin is bluish - sometimes bones or torn tendons and flesh disgustingly stick out of their bodies. Aptrgangras are often adorned with faded tattoos and scars from wounds sustained during their lifetime.
It is the mighty warriors who most often turn into Aptrgangres, so it happens that they are armed with powerful, but rusty and cracked armor. They love brutal hand-to-hand combat with huge two-handed axes or deadly hammers.
Combat
Unfortunately for adventurers, the Aptrgangras are not without a tactical sense and a twisted intelligence. During the battle, you should watch out for their audacious charges, murderous melee attacks and powerful ground-shaking hits. They are quite tough and resilient opponents who are not in the habit of fleeing or surrendering. On the contrary - legends passed down by warriors say that wounded and enraged Aptrgangr becomes even more dangerous and blood thirsty with each hit taken!
