🌊 Hey everyone!
We’re thrilled to share that we’re about to make a splash. Literally! Our next update, arriving just in time for the Steam Autumn Sale, introduces brand-new water levels that bring fresh mechanics, unexpected challenges, and a whole new twist to the way you play the game.
What’s New?
Dynamic Water Mechanic: Swim, dive, and master buoyancy as you solve puzzles in ways you’ve never had to before. Movement feels slower, heavier, and more strategic. Timing your jumps and planning your path becomes even more important when the water works with or against you.
Fresh Challenges: Not everything behaves the same underwater. Objects and platforms have new properties once submerged. Expect surprises that will test your puzzle-solving skills in brand-new ways.
Visual Overhaul: We’ve created lush aquatic environments packed with shimmering water effects, flowing surfaces, and little details like bubbles and foam. And yes, there are fish. 🐟
Immersion Through Effects: Splash in, kick up bubbles, and watch ripples follow your every move. These aren’t just visuals, they’re cues to help you understand how the water is affecting your character and the world around you.
Why Water?
We’ve always wanted to expand the world with environments that feel alive and unpredictable. Water gave us the perfect opportunity to do that. It introduces new physics, pacing, and strategies:
Slower movement changes how you approach challenges.
Floating and sinking platforms force you to think creatively.
The element of buoyancy makes even familiar objects behave in surprising ways.
For us, water isn’t just another setting. It's a gameplay twist that changes the rules and keeps the adventure feeling fresh.
We’re putting the final touches on these levels right now, polishing the visuals and fine-tuning the mechanics to make sure they feel just right. We can’t wait to put this in your hands and see the creative ways you’ll overcome these challenges.
Keep an eye out during the Steam Autumn Sale and get ready to dive deep into the new puzzles.
Best regards,
Playdew Team
