A little over a year ago, when WhisperGames were celebrating the release of ASTLIBRA Revision on Steam and its success, they asked developer KEIZO for a "Director's Cut" of the original Gaiden: The Cave of Phantom Mist in the same way, and KEIZO immediately said, "I'm was waiting for you guys to ask!"
Over the next year, developer KEIZO, DxLib author Mr. Yamada, and artists Shigatake and Haku Tatsufuchi have worked together again to expand the former "mini-gaiden" to the size it is today.
