Editor 1.1 is here, and a word about Editor 2.0

Hello everyone!

A new update for the Dynamic Dungeons Editor is out. Along with the update details, we want to give you a look at how development is going in the background.

We've mentioned before that we're working on Editor 2.0, a bigger release with a lot of new features and some major fixes. We've decided to take a different route to get there. We'll reach 2.0 through smaller, more regular public updates instead of one long stretch of silence followed by a single big release.

That way improvements reach you sooner, you stay in the loop on what we're building, and you hear from us regularly. Expect an update roughly every month or every other month, along with more about our plans for the Editor as we go.

What's in Editor 1.1

Encounter Manager

This one was planned for a later stage, but so many of you asked for it that we moved it up. It's in your hands now.

Bug Report tool

You'll find it in the main menu. You can send us a bug report directly, with an image and your comments attached. The .log file is included automatically, which lets us see every detail of what went wrong on your side. You can also leave your email, so if we have follow-up questions about the issue, we can reach out to you.

Fixes and smaller additions

  • Fog of War accuracy fix

  • AOE tools can now be saved and loaded back in

  • Splash Screen now supports videos (the Splash Screen is what shows up when nothing else is being displayed)

  • In Background mode, clicking on a prop switches to prop mode automatically

  • Small UI fixes

  • Various smaller bug fixes

A few bigger features we're working on for the coming weeks

  • Improved token handling

  • Fog of War polygon reveal tool and FOW area presets

  • Text tool

  • Condition markers

And plenty of other ideas still sitting on the board.

Thank you for using the Editor. We hear you and we see you, and we know some of you have had a rough time with it. We're constantly working on stability, and every piece of feedback gets our attention.

The best way to help us with that is the new Bug Report feature. Whenever something goes wrong, send it through. Those reports tell us exactly where to look.

If you have any questions, message us or tag us in the channel. We'll do our best to help.

Thanks again, and we'll keep you posted!

Wish you awesome games!
