For most players the current update will be a bit 'meh', most of the changes are related to simplifying the first tutorial and missions. Until the advanced tutorial it will not be possible to use the scaling and rotating of the terrain. Snap turn on the joystick is still available, for players that are not able to turn around.
This change automatically cuts the first tutorial in half, and hopefully will give new players a way to get into the real game a lot quicker.
- Terrain offset change has been reverted to the 'two hand below terrain' movement system. This makes it much harder to accidentally move the terrain out of reach.
- It is now possible to use the singlehanded movement system while holding something in your other hand. This is a big change to the gameplay options, but I think its not overpowered.
- Losing an object from your grip without releasing the trigger, cannot directly transition to a movement input. So you first need to release your grip to 're-grab' the terrain or air.
- When a object is held, but is lost from the hand. The hand will not be used for movement until the grip is first released.
- When holding a tower block that is connected to other tower blocks, the entire affected collection is highlighted.
- When taking damage your towers and buildings will blink.
For the future I am afraid the terrain shader will need a big kick. Since its using a 3rd party shader currently there are some limits of what I can do with it. Both in adding features and in GPU performance. For the Quest 3 build I've already made a high performance version, but it came at a big cost to the visual presentation.
