We are excited to share the news that the first playable demo of our PvE roguelike mode is now available. Our Adventure mode update to the demo will feature as part of the Steam Next Fest, where you can test your might in the dueling arena until the 24th of June.
Death or Glory is the ultimate dueling showdown that plays as a card game. Choose your champion and venture through the fantasy realms to build the perfect fighting deck in the roguelike adventure mode, which plays like a traditional roguelike deck builder, similar to Slay the Spire and Wildfrost.
The new demo also features a lot of updates to the PvP mode, including online matchmaking. You can face off against other champions and climb the ranks of glory in tense dueling battles. The arena mode sits closer to that of an original CCG (Hearthstone, Legends of Runetera). Regardless of what mode you choose to champion, the experience will always be earned and unlock content for both PvE and PvP.
Please note. All experience earned in the demo will be lost when we launch in Early Access later this year

Key Features of the new demo
- Five Classes with Five Unique Resource Systems - No two classes play alike. Spellslingers will accumulate Mana, whilst Monsters will Unleash power.
- Character Decks - Every character has unique mechanics and befitting cards that can only be played by them. A Ninja will have nimble and fast cards whilst a lumbering Giant has powerful and heavy attacks.
- Dynamic Turn Control - Both players share a turn. As soon as you counter your opponent's card, you seize the initiative and gain control of the battle.
- Embark on an Adventure - The roguelike single-player mode will make players choose between multiple paths to take on a journey. Different choices will result in different rewards, and the playstyle of every champion will constantly adapt with every card rewarded.
- Competitive Duels - Duel your friends in a death match to see who is the greater champion. Climb the ladder for Seasonal rewards and the taste of glory against your rivals.
Death or Glory will release later this summer in open beta. We would love your feedback on this demo to prepare the fighters for the grueling battles ahead…and to make sure no fighter is a little too overtrained.
See you in the arena,
Distilled Gaming Company
