But what exactly is the Earth Appreciation Festival?
To celebrate Earth Day each year, game development studio Mechanistry brings together a host of spectacular indie games that spotlight both the dark and light side of today's environmental challenges. Some of the games selected focus on post-apocalyptic themes and tackle issues such as pollution, overpopulation, rapid climate change, and lack of sustainability. Others, such as Wildmender, carry a strong message about the power of an individual to help the environment and change their circumstances for the better, one seed at a time!
In fact, promoting this message has been at the heart of our decision to create Wildmender, which is why we entered into a collaboration with the Rainforest Alliance in September 2023. We even created a special frog hat DLC, which was inspired by the Rainforest Alliance’s iconic logo 🐸
