Hello! Today I’d like to talk about the mechanics of body temperature in Lost Scavenger.
The environment temperature and equipment affect the character's body temperature and the game will not have any surprises in this regard: the colder it is outside, the warmer the player needs to dress :).
Each item has a thermal insulation parameter - it indicates how well the item maintains body temperature and the slot (head / body / legs) that it insulates.
Thermal insulation determines how much heat is retained by this thing. You can combine several items to insulate one slot, but not more than 100%. For example, wearing a T-shirt with 10% thermal insulation and a sweater with 60%, the body will receive 70% thermal insulation.
Body heat loss is distributed across all slots, and is calculated as follows: body - 50%, head - 20%, legs -30%. Thus, the bare torso affects heat loss the most and needs to be insulated first.

The character's body temperature changes over time. As in real life, stripping naked, a person does not freeze instantly - the process of hypothermia occurs gradually. So in Lost Scavenger, the change occurs over time, the value of the change depends on the Final Dynamics, the calculation of this dynamics can be seen below (now there will be a little math):
The final calculation of the dynamics of change is as follows:
Total thermal insulation = (coefficient of all things of the body / 100) * 0.5 + (coefficient of all things of the head / 100) * 0.2 + (coefficient of all things of the legs / 100) * 0.3 + coefficients of effects. For example, (30/100) * 0.5 + (70/100) * 0.2 + (70/100) * 0.3 = 0.5
Influence of temperature = current temperature - minimum temperature / maximum temperature - minimum temperature, for example now 15 degrees (15-10) / (25-10) = 0.6
Final dynamics = -Maximum Value of Dynamics + (MWD * Influence of temperature + MWD * General thermal insulation) In our case, MWD = 3%, as a result, we get -3+ (3 * 0.6 + 3 * 0.5) = 0.3%.
Thus, even with maximum thermal insulation, the player will have to periodically warm up by the fire, and when walking without clothes in bad weather, the player will quickly get hypothermia (I will tell you about the change in weather and, accordingly, temperature another time, this part of the game requires a separate release).
In the event of a decrease in temperature, the player receives negative effects - at 50% freezing, at 20% hypothermia - which can impose additional diseases: colds, pneumonia, etc. If a player gets wet in the rain or when crossing a river without a raft, bonuses from thermal insulation of clothing are completely lost.

Hot food and drink will raise your body temperature. If the character is resting by the fire or in the settlement, then the body temperature is restored the fastest. I will tell you about the rest in the next diary. See you soon!
