In this release a lot of work was put into improving the lineup generation and lineup substitution algorithms. This code is used whenever a game is played without using as-played lineups. For example, when replaying the 2021 season as it unfolds, playing any of the "all decade/great team" libraries, and replaying the standard season libraries with as-played lineups disabled.
The lineup generation and substitution code is quite complex because it has to balance a lot of factors such as the manager profile lineup generation strategy, lineup substitution settings, player usage settings, inactive or injured players, left/right matchups, and more. With the release of v9.1.7 you should see much better lineup management when playing without as-played lineups. Lineups should be more realistic and if playing time limits are enabled, player usage should be more accurate.
In addition to improved lineup management there are two new manager profile settings, and they can be found in the lineup substitution section of the manager profile. The first allows you to specify if it is OK for the CM to reorder a user defined lineup when the CM has made substitutions. This setting is enabled by default. The second new option allows you to decide if the CM should consider split statistics or combined stats when building a lineup. The default for this setting is to use splits.
In this release we have also added the ability to export multiple boxscores in one shot. This feature can be found on the Boxscore Viewer Page. To export multiple boxscores just click on the Export All button. This will cause all of the boxscores listed on the left-side of the page to be exported. The status bar will display the progress of the export and you can cancel the operation using the Cancel button. NOTE: canceling will stop the export, but any boxscore files that have already been exported will remain.
Here is a list of the bug fixes included in this release:
- Fixed an inconsistency with the display of team names on the Playoff Page.
- Fixed an issue with sorting team names when a library contains teams from different years.
- Fixed an issue with filtering catchers in the Browse Players Page.
- Fixed an issue with navigating through months on the Schedule Page when there is a month that does not contain any scheduled games.
- Fixed an issue with the display of fielding percentages in the reports.
Finally, a big thank you to all of the users that have reported issues and made suggestions! Thanks to this feedback I have a long list of things to work on, and will be rolling them out as the summer progresses.
Enjoy!
