Hello Ranchers! 👋💚
A new update is now available!
Make sure your game is updated to version 0.8.10.871.
🎥 Camera Improvements
This update brings a major round of improvements to camera controls, responsiveness, and customization.
- Improved mouse camera movement for smoother and more predictable control. Camera rotation now responds consistently to mouse movement speed, removing the previous reversed acceleration feeling.
- Adjusted the maximum camera zoom-in distance to improve camera movement and overall usability, especially while driving and building.
⚙️ New Camera Settings
- Added a new Mouse - Camera Sensitivity option, allowing you to better adjust camera sensitivity based on your mouse DPI and hardware.
- Added Automatically Follow Character Direction.
- When On, the camera automatically follows the direction your character is moving without requiring manual rotation.
- Off by default.
- Added On-Foot - Camera Follow Delay.
- Controls how long the camera waits before smoothly realigning with your character's direction when Auto-Follow is enabled.
- This can be adjusted to make camera movement feel more comfortable, especially for players sensitive to motion.
- Added Automatically Follow Vehicle Direction.
- When On, the camera automatically follows the direction of the vehicle you are driving.
- On by default.
- Added Vehicle - Camera Follow Delay.
- Controls how long the camera waits before smoothly realigning with the vehicle's direction when Vehicle Auto-Follow is enabled.
- Adjust this value to find the camera behavior that feels most comfortable for you.
🎮 New Camera Shortcuts & Behavior
- Double-press C → Resets the camera orientation only, even when Auto-Follow is disabled.
- Double-press Right Mouse Button or press V → Resets both the camera zoom and orientation, even when Auto-Follow is disabled.
- When a vehicle is moving backward, Vehicle Auto-Follow is temporarily disabled to make reversing and parking easier.
- Once the vehicle starts moving forward again, Auto-Follow automatically resumes if enabled in the settings.
🏠 Building
- Added a new How to Build Roofs tutorial.
- The tutorial appears the first time a player attempts to place a roof and explains the main roof-building rules, support requirements, and placement constraints.
Thank you again for all your feedback and testing. These camera changes were heavily influenced by what you've been reporting, so please keep letting me know how the new controls feel. 💚
