A Complete Timeline for Fans, Ten Days Before Launch
With just 7 days left until Tormentor finally unleashes its full nightmare, we wanted to look back at the long path that led here. From early community rebuilding to massive reveals, crowdfunding battles, trailers, events, and the release of Tormentor: Prologue, this journey has been intense, unpredictable, and unforgettable.
This retrospective is dedicated to everyone who stuck with the project, believed in it, pushed it forward, and helped shape the community into what it is today.
📌 Late 2024 - The Reawakening
This is the moment when we returned to working on Tormentor, but at the same time shared with you what we had been struggling with for many months, and what we ultimately managed to survive (you can revisit that news post). We kept pushing forward, doing what we do best, and continuing to challenge the limits of censorship.
Less than two weeks later, we invited you to talk about Tormentor, and the interviews with you gave us a huge number of ideas. They also clearly showed us what you expect from Tormentor and which direction we should take. Thank you for your engagement!
📌 Reddit Relaunch
The official r/TormentorGame subreddit was relaunched with a new identity, new rules, and a more focused structure.

📌 Madnight 2025
We opened Madnight with a manifesto against censorship, something we've been fighting for years, and something that still tries to limit and block us. But we’re not giving up. We continue to fight for our creative freedom every single day, to this day.
📌 The Bloody Mary Reveal - Featuring Shawnee Smith
One of Tormentor’s biggest moments arrived with the reveal of Bloody Mary, portrayed by horror icon Shawnee Smith (SAW).
The reveal generated a surge in interest and quickly became one of the defining moments of Tormentor’s cycle.
📌 Kickstarter Campaign
In late March, Tormentor launched its Kickstarter campaign. It showcased the game’s vision, the reward tiers, and the long-term roadmap the studio planned for the project.
Although the campaign gathered momentum, it was ultimately denied, pushing us toward a new solution.
📌 IndieGoGo - A Complete Turnaround
We had to relaunch the entire crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo, where the community rallied with incredible support.

📌 Community Events - “Confess to Mary”
To close out the pre-launch cycle, the team launched the Confess to Mary event, running from October 31 to November 7.
