Update 10 is now live! — Templates, Weekly Missions, Titles & Pets

Update 10 brings major improvements to Guardians Frontline focused on stability, progression, and quality of life.

This update introduces a new Template System for saving grouped objects in the Map Editor, Weekly Missions to expand a welcomed feature, the Title System to showcase your accomplishments, and many more additions alongside numerous bug fixes, gameplay improvements, and quality-of-life enhancements.

As always, we'll be closely monitoring player feedback and game data to continue improving the experience.

Template System

Added a system that allows players to save groups of objects as templates for use in other maps. Those templates can be named and used in multiplayer so you can share them and use them in map editor lobbies.

Weekly Missions

We've observed that Daily Missions are a popular feature, so we're expanding the system with Weekly Missions.

Every week you will get a mission with larger conditions to fulfill rewarding 10% of your current level's XP requirement and 100 RP.

Like the Daily Missions we will be closely monitoring how players interact with it so we can expand and improve it in future updates with some ideas we have!

Title System

Added a title system where players can select a title to be displayed in their nametags, those titles will allow you to show off your merits!

Titles can be earned through leveling up, events or even unique feats!

PET companion!

Added a new Pet system where a harmless companion follows you around. You can find pets in the hangar and select one to accompany you into battle.

For now, all bug enemies are available as smaller, tamed versions that can be equipped as pets.

Item List

Added a list of all items in a map, allowing players to easily select, move, or delete placed objects. There will be no more lost items obscured by your wonderful creations!

10 New Levels

The level cap has been increased from 50 to 60. Each new level requires 10 million XP and unlocks additional progression rewards.

Updated the player level progression system. Each level now has its own rank name, and leveling up can unlock Guardian skins, weapon skins, titles, and pets.

Grenade Aim Helper

Added a new grenade aim helper. If you aim with a free hand, a prediction line will be shown helping players throw grenades.

News Section

We've modified the left panel in the lobby to display constant news to players, such as events, patch notes, service issues and more! This will not substitute the current messaging system.

New Feature Dot Display System

Added a system that displays an orange dot on new features added in each update, this dot is shown in all the path until reaching the new feature so players don't miss any new functionality!

We'll be flagging some of the Update 9 features for players who may have missed them.

Female Skin equalization

Added two more female Guardian skins to help balance the number of available male and female skins:

• Orange Guardian
• Blue Guardian

NEW/CHANGES

• Added a second-hand grip to the AK2. You can now hold the weapon with both hands.
• Added new weapon grip tooltips.
• Added a fade-in/fade-out effect when changing scenes for smoother transitions.
• Added smoother weapon return animations when holstering weapons.
• Added a message to the bHaptic setting reminding players to activate the "Nearby Devices" setting in Meta for it to function correctly.
• Added measures to prevent the Galaxy Influence points not carrying over if a player had an unstable connection.
• Added Cannon Tower sounds to the Audio Mixer.
• Renamed the "Back to Menu" button to "Leave Lobby" for improved clarity.
• Reviewed the Queen spawn logic. Queens now have a 60-second cooldown that begins when the previously spawned Queen is defeated, giving players more breathing room between encounters.
• Daily Missions now grant XP even at max level.
• Daily Mission XP has been reduced from 5% to 2% of your current level.
• Improved the Daily Mission rotation system. Players won’t get the same mission before all others were assigned first.
• Voice lines are now linked to the SFX volume mixer.
• Disconnected users in the social list are now merged and ordered alphabetically.
• Connected users are now listed in descending order.
• When opening the creator profile of a map with a listed author, the search will now prioritize maps by that author instead of the original creator.

Major Fixes

• Fixed a major issue where music did not play during the first launch after installation, which could give the impression that the game had frozen.
• Fixed a major performance issue during the game’s first launch that caused unusually long loading times. On Quest 2, loading could sometimes take over 5 minutes; this has now been reduced to approximately 45 seconds.
• Fixed a major issue where the scoreboard was not displayed correctly in some cases. All affected scores have now been restored.
• Fixed a major issue where reporting a map could cause the game to crash.
• Fixed a major issue where the initial server connection could fail during the first few minutes after launching the game. A load-balancing server has been added, and the “Server Not Available” error should now occur less frequently.
• Fixed a major issue where the Social List would not populate correctly unless players forced a reconnection to the server by entering Galaxy Conquest panel.
• Fixed several edge cases where the server connection could end prematurely, causing the Join Game list to not fully populate.
• Fixed a major issue where matches would not end if the host changed while a larva created a new hive, making it appear as though no hives remained.
• Fixed a major issue where some players with high XP would experience an overflow and be reverted to Cadet.
• Fixed a major issue where some players with high XP would experience an overflow and be reverted back to Cadet.
• Fixed an issue where a host change could create ghost nests, blocking the game from ending.

NOTE: There is now a 2-minute delay before a player’s online status is updated for others. During this window, a player may already have the game open but still appear offline in the Friends List.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where Domination bases started fully captured at the beginning of a match.
• Fixed an issue where Domination bases could be damaged by player attacks.
• Fixed an issue where players could place teleports through walls.
• Fixed an issue where certain volume blocks incorrectly blocked projectiles from flying units.
• Fixed an issue where applying a second damage boost did not reset the buff duration.
• Fixed an issue where players were not properly centered at the start of the tutorial, preventing them from selecting the initial settings.
• Fixed an issue where AK2 Stun explosions did not count toward the AK2 Daily Mission.
• Fixed an issue causing PvP bots to aim at the ceiling.
• Fixed an issue where the first trophy placed on a shelf could be duplicated.
• Fixed an issue where Main Missions displayed 10/11 completed after all missions had been completed.
• Fixed an issue where AK20 kills were not counting toward the corresponding Daily Mission.
• Fixed an issue where Energy Sword skins would be rendered as square textures.
• Fixed an issue where flying units could pass through assets from the Ancient Pack.
  • Note: overstretched assets may still cause collision issues.

• Fixed an issue where a friendly unit destroying a nest could cause Domination mode to finish prematurely.
  
• Fixed an issue where corrupted robot enemies would shoot the bug teleporter.
  
• Fixed an issue where opening the player list in-game could cause a long lag spike.
  
• Fixed an issue where the Join Game list would not load when first opening the game until navigating to the Campaign screen.
  
• Fixed an issue where shooting a Queen Killer box with a shotgun would cause it to fall to the ground.
  
• Fixed a performance issue affecting players with massive friend lists.
  
• Fixed a strange collision issue while dual wielding an AK2.
  
• Fixed an issue where a recent hangar purchase was not being saved after closing the game, forcing the player to rebuy it every time.

Map Editor

• Fixed an issue where Kill Volumes configured to affect enemies would also kill friendly units.
• Fixed an issue where grouped objects could only be cloned once, requiring players to release and reselect the group before creating another clone.
• Fixed an issue where three column assets were missing display names:

  • Basic_ConcreteColumn2mDark
  • Basic_ConcreteColumn2m

• Fixed an issue where a linked Spawnpoint and Enemy Spawner would spawn units in the center of the Enemy Spawner asset instead of the Spawnball.
  • Maps without Spawnballs should continue working normally.

• Fixed an issue where the HP and Damage settings would reset back to 100% when modified.
