Hello community!
Thanks to your support, Little Legends evolveed and has taken a very different path than originally planned. Now the time has come to take the steps toward the full release!
A "little" later than initially expected, but I think it was worth it. With your feedback, the original open-world sandbox concept was expanded with a storyline and a village full of people.
Making these two “worlds” compatible with each other required a lot of additional technical work, but I think the result speaks for itself. Little Legends now combines a sandbox world with a playable story.
Because of this change in direction, the codebase has become far more complex than originally planned. As a result, I unfortunately have to let go of a few things from the initial Early Access roadmap. The biggest one being the multiplayer mode, even though it would have fit the game very well.
But that is exactly what Early Access is for: Together, we were able to find the direction that you wanted most for the game!
So what does the release plan look like?
Alongside a few smaller topics, there are four major milestones I aim to reach by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027:
A fitting and playable introduction to the story.
The house-building system.
Expansion of the Adventurers’ Guild with tasks.
The return through the portal and the final battle against the last boss.
The new intro will properly introduce the story that has since been developed. The current intro was created before a storyline even existed. According to my current plans, this will also be the final update before release. It will also contain several improvements to graphics and gameplay.
The full release will wrap up the core story, but it does not necessarily mean the end of development. The Early Access has gone very well so far, and I want to express my thanks all of you for your support! Because of this, I expect to continue releasing updates even after the full release.
The story is also designed in a way that allows it to continue even after defeating the “Rift Monster.” Most importantly, after almost seven years, I’ll finally be able to explore a few other ideas again. This is something I’m just as excited about as the release itself.
Hop onto Twitch to follow the development live. Otherwise, I’ll see you here again with the next update.
