Why is I Am Fish so hard? It’s a question we get asked a lot.
If you’ve played any other Bossa games, like I Am Bread or Surgeon Simulator, you’ll know that I Am Fish is perhaps the easiest of the bunch, although that’s not to say it’s without its challenges.
That’s just the way Bossa makes games! But, once you master the controls, few games feel as good.
If you do indeed suck at it, our best advice would be to get familiar with the idea of controlling a physics-based fish whilst inside a vehicle. That’s one of the core design principles.
The vehicles vary, of course: sometimes it’s a fish bowl, on occasion it’s a bucket... you even end up in a human at one point! Regardless of what you find yourself in, it’s the fish you are controlling, so the key is to think about momentum and how that can affect the fish’s movement.
I Am Fish has been referred to as “An Aquatic Dark Souls” and it’s hard to disagree! However, we hope you enjoyed the frustration of managing the fishes’ journey to the ocean!
