Hello SCP : FF Community!
Phonicz here, the Lead and Solo dev for the game. I'm here to tell you about all the work we've done over the past month, and what we have in store for future updates in the next few months.
You may have also noticed that there was not a lot of map updates / visual improvements this month. That is because we spent a week and a bit at least improving core gameplay / core functionality of the game. We thought this was necessary time spent to improve the playing experience later. As well as a lot of time was spent optimizing code and the game in general. Nonetheless we have some exciting updates listed below.
Major Gameplay Changes
- Completely reworked the shooting system to give a realistic option and a more arcade style option.
- The new overhaul of weapon mechanics also comes with a brand new clean and minimal HUD, meant to give a cinematic view to the game when no weapon is being used.
- New parts of the map have been made, and more progress is ongoing on finishing it up.
- GUN CUSTOMIZATION! No attachments are made now, but we have a working attachment system to be used later.
Medium Game Updates
- Complete new nametag system, and voice chat system starting to be implemented.
- SCP-457's Fire ability has gotten some reworking and balancing. Now is looking close to a final stage.
- Numerous bug fixes, too many to count.
- Game optimization. Code has been cleaned up and map lighting improved as much as possible.
Future Updates/Plans
- Campaign mode has had extensive work done to it, with a lot of the storyline for the first few chapters being worked on.
- We are contemplating the idea of making the first campaign level a publicly playable demo in the next coming months, while we fine-tune the multiplayer. Tell us your thoughts on that in the discord or on the steam forums!
- New SCP-Concepts. After hearing feedback from users, we have looked extensively at adding a few more interesting SCP's into the game.
- AI. Minor work has already started on it, and more will be coming in the future for singleplayer and potentially multiplayer AI integration.
Thank you guys for all the patience and the suggestions/questions! I really appreciate them and im amazed how quickly this has grown and how big its now become! This has been a dream of mine for a while and Lucky to be able to have you all here to help it become reality.
Thank you,
-Phonicz
