Hello, survivors!
Thank you so much for participating in our playtests! Your feedback is invaluable and helps us shape Hordecore into a much better game.
We are glad to present a new Playtest update! We've added a brand new class, a new biome, a new enemy, weapons, and lots more. We'll be waiting for your feedback, so enjoy the test (it can be found on the main game page, please use the link at the bottom of the post)!
General:
- Many visual and code-related bug fixes;
- A large batch of stability improvements;
- Fixed a frame drop issue that occurred when the tutorial section asked you to open your inventory;
- Fixed several blockers that could occur from finding a way to exit out of the Deck Manager when you accept to play a Tournament mission card game; (please try to find more ways to close out of the Deck Manager to see, if the issue is still present);
Content-related:
- Removed all Halloween decorations (please any leftover to the HQ, and we'll get rid of them ASAP);
- New biome in all game modes - The Factory;
- New survivor class - The Scientist;
- New class modifier skills (Scientist) - Energy Blast, Lightning Cloud, Frost Nova;
- New enemy class — The Trojan. You will meet them in the Gauntlet and on later levels that would previously include the Hulks;
- New weapons added to the loot drop table (Scientist) - Shock Gun, Plasma Gun, Ray Gun;
- New 3D models on some skill modifiers (land mines, flame traps, shock traps, flying drones, flame turrets).
UI:
- Improvements on UI functionality and formatting;
- Updated Horde Tactics UI;
- Added a warning in a multiplayer match when you're far away from the group and will be teleported to them;
Design improvements:
- Multiplayer mode now features a brand new tutorial, which can be accessed in the Camp;
- Local co-op players now have their own inventory and items;
- Added an internal cooldown to controller interactions to prevent survivor skills from getting locked (interacting with doors, boxes, loot drops, objectives, etc.);
- In Online Multiplayer, your survivor will now get their health reset if you die and fail the mission;
Controls:
- Added a shortcut to quickly salvage individual items with keyboard and mouse (S + Click the object);
- It is now possible to equip items by double-clicking them;
- You can now hold the skip button to skip the comics fully, and most skips are now done with the "hold" interaction (UI is not yet adjusted to reflect this change).
