So it saddens me to write this but Simply Hard Platformer had to be delayed. The great news is that the remake is well underway and 30 Levels are completed as of now. SHP's development was originally done on Unity, but unfortunately Unity is not optimized for or ideal to make 2D platformer games on. I switched to a new engine that is giving me MUCH more flexibility with creating my game and I promise it's at least 1,000 times better than the original version would have been. Here are the differences between old SHP and new SHP.
Old SHP
- 1 BGM (Background Music)
- Just Platforms
- No Jump Sound
- No Story
- No Level Counter
- No Humor
- Janky Controls
- Crappy Pause Menu
- Partial Controller Support
New SHP
- Multiple BGM's
- New Deathboxes
- New Deathmist
- New Doomcoins
- Jump Sound
- Simple Story
- Level Counter UI
- Some Humor
- Smooth Controls
- Nice Pause Overlay
- Full Controller Support
- Use of particle emitters
