Hello engineers!
I'm excited to announce that Final Factory is participating in Next Fest next week! As such, the demo is now live, and will be open for the next 3 weeks.
We are actively looking for playtesters, as release is just around the corner. The demo version is the 0.16 branch for stability, but release will be the 0.17 branch, and we need to test the crap out of it before launch day!
I expect to launch .17 to experimental this weekend. It has a ton of new features which I will present in the update announcement in the coming days!
In the mean time, here's the patch notes for the latest version of 0.16:
Gameplay
- Added connector inventory to Defense Platform and made it a splitter
- Made laser turrets splitters
These changes allow for more flexibility when designing battleships
Bug Fixes
- When units are destroyed or used up, it will now correctly count as consumption in the production statistics panel, giving you a better idea of how well your ship production is doing
- Turned on burst compile for several systems, improving performance
- Made Asteroid Science correctly require Cargo Logistics research
- Fixed check for Steam client being initialized
- Fixed a bug where the player ship wouldn't correctly look at its mining target when mining
- Fixed a bug where miners could get inside of their asteroid as they were mining
- Fixed a bug where objectives would sometimes incorrectly count ores
- Fixed a bug where the New Game Panel could not be closed
Misc
- Updated call to action button graphics
- Updated alpha notice to say beta
