In the dim glow of his home office, surrounded by the sterile hum of monitors and the faint echoes of children's coughs from the next room, the father sat. As a dedicated lawyer, he was accustomed to shaping outcomes, drafting arguments that could sway judges and alter lives. But now, with his two young ones quarantined due to relentless illnesses—one fever blending into the next—he found himself trapped in the same invisible cage. Days blurred into nights as he watched the world outside unfold without him: colleagues advancing cases he once led, neighbors gossiping about neighborhood shifts he couldn't investigate, and distant sirens hinting at crises he was powerless to address. Paranoia crept in like shadows lengthening at dusk—what plots were hatching in his absence? What secrets lurked in the unchecked corners of his professional world? Isolation wasn't just a barrier; it was a mirror, reflecting his unraveling grip on reality.
Isolation Simulator - Update v0.71b
Hey everyone,
I'm back with a small but steady update to Isolation Simulator, version v0.71b. As a solo dev, these patches are all about polishing the experience while I chip away at the bigger picture. Here's what's new:
Improved Game Stability: Fixed several crashes and performance hiccups, especially during longer play sessions. The game should feel smoother overall.
Windowed Mode Option: You can now play in windowed mode instead of being locked to fullscreen. Toggle it in the settings menu for more flexibility.
Typo Corrections in Subtitles: Cleaned up various spelling and grammar errors in the in-game text to make the narrative flow better.
Enhanced Decorations in Locations: Added more details to environments, particularly wall connectors and seams to reduce visual inconsistencies and make spaces feel more immersive.
Voiceover Hint for "The Void" Secret Hunters: For those scouring the end of "The Void" chapter for hidden secrets—spoiler: there aren't any. I've added a subtle voice line to gently guide players away without breaking immersion.
Added Missing Sounds and Voice Lines: Filled in a few audio gaps, including ambient effects and character dialogues that were placeholders before.
Limited Flickering Lights Events: Capped the number of these occurrences per playthrough to prevent them from feeling overwhelming or repetitive.
Since the last update, my focus has been primarily on developing the Kyle's Redemption arc, which will tie into the full release narrative. It's shaping up to be a deep, emotional thread, but progress has been slower than I'd hoped. Over the past four weeks, my kids have been hit with back-to-back illnesses—one recovering just as the other started—which has drastically cut into my dev time. On top of that, I've been handling ongoing legal paperwork for my wife's disputes with her former employer, pulling me away from the keyboard more than expected.
The full release is still on track for an estimated April/May 2026 window. I appreciate your patience and support—it's what keeps this project alive. If you run into any issues with this patch, drop a comment below or hit the forums. Stay isolated, stay sane.
Thanks,
Maksymilian Zienkiewicz
