Sound Effect Updates
We made several big changes in this update and been working on this for the past 2 weeks (before launch in early-access). Originally we did the sound effects like wind and birds in the meditation, but we decided it needed to be in the world instead. Especially because we plan to have more than one meditation now and the project has been growing so much beyond what we originally planned. So we took the effects out and added them to the day / night cycle so you hear birds in the day and crickets at night. We are trying to make it in the background as much as possible so it's not a distraction and very subtle.
Time of day UI update
A lot of our beta testers also requested to have the ability to pick the time and day and have it lock or resume. So we added buttons for morning, afternoon, evening, and the middle of the night. It also has a working clock that runs so if you have a favorite hour, you can find it and lock it. We felt this was important because the sky and colors really set the mood of the landscape and some of the changes are very beautiful.
Logic behind our UI Panel
Some of our beta testers requested we had a popup VR panel or watch panel but we felt from the beginning we didn't want to break the immersion of being in this world. We didn't want you to feel like you were in just another VR simulation, but you are in and part of this world and you need to go somewhere to press the buttons.
Misc
We added a music only play option for those that want an unguided meditation, it still says coming soon as I don't know how it will perform on everyone's system, as it a big audio file. But do check it out!
We also fixed a lot of misc meshes that didn't have colliders or broken ones.
Possible Upcoming
We have a lot of planned upcoming in no particular order and not set it stone:
1. More meditations - is a must add
2. The sand in the Japanese area to look better and maybe more decor
2. New varieties or more dense trees for the back and right gardens. Left garden is pretty dense, we like how that turned out.
3. Bird AI needs work
4. Maybe a few more butterfly areas
5. Fish or other wildlife like rabbits ?
6. More tweaks or even redo of the ambient effects
If you want the update as soon as possible, you can restart steam, otherwise it can take 24 hours for steam to push it out. It can also take a bit for all steam servers so update around the world.
