Overwhelming number of Geckos!
We just hit 500 reviews on Steam, with an Overwhelming Positive rating!
Thank you, everyone who has played the game already, for the incredible reception. To celebrate, I thought it would be nice to celebrate some of the people who made Gecko Gods a reality.
Louis Waloschek - Game Creator/Director
I began Gecko Gods while studying my final year of university, and for the first few years worked on the game solo. The first person to join the team was the composer Jasmine Cooper, whom I was e-introduced to by the composer Eli Rainsberry.
Jasmine’s beautiful soundtrack is at the heart of the world of Gecko Gods. If you’d like to listen to more of Jasmine’s incredible work, you can do so here: https://perennialsounds.com/
“There was a lot of trust given to me in the creation of Gecko's soundtrack. I'm really glad that trust has been well received!" - Jasmine Cooper

Shortly thereafter, Martin Kvale joined the team as audio designer. We were introduced by Gregorios Kythreotis, a local friend and one of the co-creators of Sable. The process of working with Martin to find the right sound for the game was very creatively rewarding, and his sound work on Gecko Gods has attracted and endeared many players to the game.

A couple of years into development, I was visiting a seafood restaurant in Bologna when I met Carlo di Paolo, who happened to be the son of the owner of the restaurant. After realising we both worked in video games, we quickly became friends, and he even found me somewhere to stay when I missed my flight back to the UK.
Around a year later, Carlo joined Gecko Gods as lead level/puzzle designer.
Carlo threw himself wholeheartedly into adapting the challenges and constraints of puzzle and level design where the player can walk on literally anything, and built the major temples of the game into the experience you can play today.

I would also like to give a special mention to Environment Artist Ali Eser (https://www.artstation.com/ali_eser) and Illustrator Olivia Sullivan (https://oliviasullivanillustration.co.uk), Alex Strook (https://store.steampowered.com/developer/alblune) who made many of the statues (and cacti!) in the game, Lukas J. Schneider (https://www.erlkoenig-games.com/) who modelled/animated many of the insects, Mat Sneap who helped clean up and decorate the archipelago, and Dario Zubovic who helped us bring Gecko Gods to consoles.
Also, thank you to publisher Super Rare Originals and the many others who helped bring Gecko Gods to life. Please see the full credits here: https://www.mobygames.com/game/259411/gecko-gods/credits/windows/
