Hey everyone!
Our patrons have been heavily testing the military perk update and so far it appears to be stable.
Before we release the update for the general public, we still need to add and test the following things:
- 10+ modules
- 5+ artifacts
- more rewards for asteroid mining
- saplings for the Treefarm
- tooltips for the new Factory content
- 1 more military perk
- a change in early game building tiers
The list is just a brief summarization of the major things. There are still many small quality of life features for the new content that need to be implemented.
Factory Fabricator
Since the latest experimental build contains the Fabricator, we can now fill in the gaps in the Factory news post on what it is about.
The Fabricator has two major functionalities: dissolving and fabricating.
Dissolving allows you to convert items which you don't need anymore into raw mass which can then be turned into any other item via the process of fabricating.
Later in the game the Fabricator is also able to produce its own raw mass at a slower pace but without requiring any input items.
In order to dissolve or fabricate an item it has to be scanned in the Crafter first.
Once the item has been scanned you can dissolve and fabricate it as often as you like.
The speed at which items are dissolved and fabricated can be upgraded right after unlocking the machine.
The raw mass gained and needed are not a 100% efficient at the start but there are going to be ways on how to improve the ratio to get closer and closer to a lossless conversion.
All in all the Fabricator provides you with an alternative way of recycling and producing items while still allowing the trashcan to be useful since dissolving items takes some time.
