Most of the design decisions for the progress rework are actually based on community suggestions. Hopefully the changes will be a big step toward a better introduction to the game.
We still see a lot of questions pop up and that’s why we have decided to host another ask us anything on Friday 4th of June 2021 from 17-18 CEST / 8-9 PST with focus on military perks!
This session will take place in our Discord server.
We’re going to try and record it to make it accessible afterwards for people who can’t join.
As previously announced we’re going to focus on showcasing the second floor of the Power Plant in this post!
Power Plant 2nd Floor
Introducing… the Dyson Sphere!
Regular time boosts are already a nice thing but if you want to actually alter reality you need a tremendous amount of energy to do so. That’s why you are going to harvest the raw power of the sun by building multiple rings around it.
The Dyson Sphere path is the active one of the three specializations which will focus on resource generation via tower testing and an active gameplay style. Once you unlock the second floor of the Power Plant, you can immediately start constructing the Dyson Sphere by building and launching dyson drones which will form a dyson swarm.
Dyson drones will constantly produce a special form of energy called dyson power which you can use to charge various boosts that either affect certain attributes like resource- and module drops or unlock specific new features during tower testing. The Dyson Sphere can only actively boost one selected power. If you stop boosting it, it will slowly decay and lose its effectiveness.
As soon as you have enough drones in an orbit around the sun, you can tell them to form a dyson ring. A dyson ring is an advanced static structure that allows you to prevent a boost from decaying after stopping to charge it which in turn makes it last forever. You can re-assign your rings at any time if you want to keep different boosts from decaying at a time.
One additional feature of the Dyson Sphere is the conversion of Dyson Energy to regular Power Plant power via new energy receiver components for your power grid. This provides you an additional power source (with a special placement rule) that grows along with your progress in the game.
