Hi everyone!
As promised we wanted to update you on the current progress towards the Military Perk update.
This update will be big and change the progression of the game. There’s still a lot to implement and test before we can release it, but we plan to get this update out within the next 3 weeks.
How is the progression going to change?
The construction firm will probably receive an additional tier. Higher tiers of individual buildings will be locked behind the current tier of the construction firm which is then in turn already limited by the military tier. The Workshop and the Headquarters will most likely be unlocked together right after upgrading the Construction Firm for the first time to grant an earlier access to wave acceleration upgrades and to convey the primary progression path of the game sooner and more directly. The Factory and Mine will both move to the next tier of the Construction Firm and will both have their maximum tier linked to the Construction Firm tier to not overwhelm new players with too much content this early in the game.
Why this change?
In the current version of the game the early progression is quite open and unfocused.
After unlocking the second tier of the Construction Firm you already have almost full access to 7 out of 12 buildings without having completed even the first military tier.
Many new players are easily overwhelmed by the amount of content unlocked at the same time.
What are Military Perks?
After each military tier you will get one point you can invest into an additional set of skills that will either decrease the penalty of the next military tier prestige or unlock a new set of features to aid you in your progress. There will be an equal amount of perks than there are military tiers so you will be able to max them out. Your military perk choices will define your playstyle rather than how fast you will be able to progress. The perk choices that are available to you are also grouped by your progression in the game so it is not possible to accidentally skill something that prevents you from progressing at an acceptable place. In the worst case scenario you will have to slightly adapt your playstyle.

Specializations
Every four military tiers you will be able to specialize in one of three buildings and unlock its second floor which will grant you new features of the selected building.
The order at which you choose these upgrades will determine your playstyle.
The plan is that the following buildings will be upgradeable:
- Factory: Focus on passive/idle production
- Power Plant: Focus on active gameplay
- Mine: Mix between active and idle
Today we are going to present to you a part of the second floor of the Factory.
Factory 2nd Floor
The second floor of the Factory is currently divided into multiple sections which are the Crafter, the Fabricator and the Tree Farm. There are plans for two more sections but they are still under heavy development and will probably be added at a later point in development.
Crafter
The crafter will provide you a convenient way to automatically produce higher tier items. Right after unlocking it you will have to feed the crafter some items as well as some Factory resources in order to unlock crafting recipes for it. After learning how to craft an item it will be able to learn recipes that include the learned item in themselves. All learned items can then be produced in any quantity you prefer. The crafter will automatically produce all ingredients of the final item by itself. (Below is a work in progress screenshot)

Tree Farm
The Tree Farm acts first and foremost as a continuous source of rubber by planting rubber trees in it. At this point we are not going to share what else you will be able to plant there as this is part of the exploration and experimentation aspect of the Tree Farm. But don’t worry, the game will inform you if something unconventional can be turned into a tree.

Fabricator
Anyone who has played Minecraft mods like Industrial Craft or Gregtech will probably remember the mass fabricator. The Fabricator in The Perfect Tower II is basically based on a similar concept and will allow you to recycle items in order to turn them into something else. At later stages it will even be able to generate items out of thin air if you supply it with enough energy to generate raw mass. Currently most of the mechanics are still on the drafting board so there is not much to show visually at the moment but we will include mockups or UI drafts in later posts as soon as there is something to showcase.
Next time we are going to showcase the second floor of either the Power Plant or the Mine.
