Hope everyone is doing alright during these trying times.
I'm still working on the game, in particular the final boss. The final level was not going to have this boss and I was relying on another enemy type, but it just didn't feel right.
I was also reaching out to some youtubers, bloggers and streamers, and quite honestly, if there is any advice I have to any indie game makers is this: don't expect any coverage from anyone. Perhaps indie content is saturating the market, or the following is just not as strong anymore, either way, having a PR/marketing guy is as important as having a programmer or artist. Unless you're a hobbyist (like me), in that case, do what makes you happy! However, this year in particular things are suuuuper tough, as many of the local indie cons and tournaments, where I was planning on showing off the game, are canceled.
Special shout out to Klumb3r for reaching out and giving some needed coverage of my game, and also to Lord Drakkon for leaving some feedback for Occultus Command.
Honestly, it makes me feel great that people are playing and enjoying the game, but to me the most important thing is that I'm given a chance, not every game is for everyone, and there were some valid points raised by the early playtesters, which resulted in some changes to the game. So, I'm still adding and tweaking things!
Also got some artwork for my custom stick from Focus Attack, which I think looks pretty awesome, too bad I won't be able to show it off at some cons.
Take care and be safe!
