Hello everyone! For the last of our All Under Heaven prerelease dev diaries, we’re covering a wide range of topics written by a wider range of authors. We know you’re eager to get to the New Stuff, so let’s get right into it.
2D Art
Hello, I’m Lucas Ribeiro, the 2D artist lead at Studio Black, and I’m here to bring you some insight into the work of our team.
All Under Heaven has been a HUGE undertaking for the art team. The scale of the work necessary to bring East Asia to life is much greater than anything the team has gone through before, but at the same time, we were quite excited to tackle such a fresh subject matter. Some of us were quite unfamiliar with some of the themes we were to work with, so we depended on our friendly group of beta testers, native to the regions we are portraying, to steer us in the right direction. Shout-out to the Betas!
