Hello explorers!
Here we are, one month after our release, and the original soundtrack is finally released. Rodrigo Passos, our composer and sound designer, has put a lot of effort into it, and we can see how it paid off in the reviews and comments about Raider Kid and the Ruby Chest.
He learned how to work with a music tracker specifically for this game. You can see for yourselves the difference between the current soundtrack and the one we had before using a tracker in the video below.
Quite different, huh? Subscribing to the Game Boy sound limitations was key to achieve the nostalgic experience we were aiming for. As Passos himself put it in his Bandcamp page:
"Every song here carries a piece of how much I’ve learned about making chiptune and about myself."
You can support his work by purchasing the Original Soundtrack here on Steam, or on any other platform of your preference. For those who haven't purchased the base game yet, we have a special bundle that gives 10% off on both items when bought together.

The feedback we are receiving from the community is a dream come true. We would never have expected it to be so positive. We are now approaching 100 very positive reviews here on Steam!
By the way, thanks a lot for your patience with our mistakes. We tested version 1.0.2 a lot, but it still shipped with some bugs that affected many players. Hopefully you are all enjoying 1.0.3 now with all of the updates, and no bugs! As a small team, we are doing our best to keep up with your feedback on our Discord and here on Steam.
We are also having a blast with the coverage by reviews and gameplay videos:
Boss Room Banther - "This Tiny Metroidvania Proves Less Can Be So Much More"
GebirgeBR (Portuguese) - "Proud that this game is Brazilian!"
PlainOleTrey - "Pretty good parents!" (we actually joined the stream and it was super fun)
We have also registered Raider Kid and the Ruby Chest at speedrun.com. For now, potaterhands is the uncontested leader in both 100% and Any%. Our team members are eager to challenge that! Hope you try to speedrun the game, and can enjoy it in this way as well.
On a final note, don't forget to leave a review for the game here on Steam. It is really important for us. And if you are having any issues or just want to hang out, don't hesitate in joining our Discord server.
As always, stay curious and keep exploring!
Until next time,
Cacareco Team
