Reworked for Consoles
The console version has been carefully adapted to give players the best possible experience on their systems. Key highlights include:
New Water System: A completely redesigned water system, rebuilt and optimized for consoles. It brings improved visuals to the sea, including more realistic ocean foam, making every battle feel more alive.
Gamepad Controls: Full controller support, redesigned from the ground up so players can command their fleets comfortably with a gamepad.
Better Performance: Optimized loading times and improved performance during large-scale naval battles, so the action stays smooth even when many ships fill the screen.
Polished Experience: A range of bug fixes and stability improvements to make gameplay smoother and more enjoyable on console.
Deeper Gameplay Based on the DIP Classic Mod
The console version also features a reworked gameplay experience. For this, we used the DIP Classic 1.3.3 mod with help from Brother Munro's team. This overhaul touches many parts of the game, including:
Rebalanced naval battles, artillery, armor penetration, torpedoes, damage, fires, and flooding.
Updated technologies, campaign economy, AI parameters, and Naval Academy scenarios.
A richer ship designer with new and updated parts — including turrets, superstructures, funnels, barbettes, and more. Their mass, cost, size, placement limits, and stats have all been reworked, and the balance between speed, armor, weapons, and displacement is now more demanding.
Adjusted AI research and shipbuilding priorities, campaign conditions, naval invasions, blockades, national economies, and difficulty levels.
True to the DIP Classic concept, the game features only the original in-game nations, with no extra countries added.
Players who prefer the original experience can switch the mod off at any time and play the standard, vanilla version of the game.
Design your fleet, take command, and change the course of history at sea. Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox on October 8, 2026.
