The first larger content update is coming soon to Bonfire and with it the new playable hero -- Erzsi the Countess!
The Countess is a control-type character using the combined health pool of all units on the battlefield as her personal resource. She can turn enemies into blood thralls to slowly drain their health, and then transfer it further to regenerate end empower her allies. She can also hypnotise thralls to delay their turn.
If you're one of the old alpha players, you probably immediately recognise the Countess as the most popular character for Endless Mode pushing, due to how well stuns scaled into higher motivation levels. All her abilities have been re-designed to make sure she doesn't spiral out of control anymore, while also making her better and more interesting at her original role as a support hero.
As for her rune abilities:
Ersi is the first hero able to create her own minions. Summons will play a larger role in future updates, expanding your arsenal of possible tactical options. Countess' inclusion is the first step towards that.
And if you're feeling confident, she can drop the support demeanor and spend all of her health on a last resort mass blood bolt attack likely to eradicate all enemies.
The patch will also include a new layer of character customisation based around building relationships, as well as a significant number of smaller improvements. You can expect it to come out later this month or early in the next one! If you want to stay updated, feel free to follow me on Twitter or drop by MoaCube's Discord channel.
Cheers,
Tom
