The New Stuff
Evolution Chamber - A new section of the game used to evolve robot motions. This is survival of the fittest, where the best robot is the one that gets closest to the target. The target is a moveable puck in the Evolution Chamber. Any of the four robots can be evolved. You set the number of generations, robots per generation to test, and the total test time. Choose a symmetry (left/right, front/back, diagonal or free) and start the evolution. It takes any where from 3 mins to an hour to evolve a motion, depending on the type of robot you use. You can change the time scale (5x is 5 times faster than real time) to evolve quickly. When you robot is ready, save your evolved motion with a name and assign a key to use in the game levels.
Leaderboards - Each game level has its own leaderboard based on time. The top ten score are shown.
Remember me - We added a feature to remember your login and password, which is encrypted.
Xemo Biped - Tthe balance controller has been restored, and now works correctly.
Tutorial Videos - The videos now display in-game rather than open your browser. The first level on each game level track has a video link.
Feedback button - Now includes your email or steam name automatically. The feedback email goes directly into our support system, viewed by our developers. We will respond to all feedback received (good or bad), so click away!

The New Stuff

We now bring you Xemo v1.6, a major overhaul of the user interface, robot designs and game levels. We have completely re-designed and replaced the game levels with 16 new levels - from mostly easy to more difficult. We've reworked the user interface, created better controls including keyboard mapping for motions. The game has been split into sections: the Robot Selection, the Motion Creation and the Level Play section. Have a look at the new screen shots - the game art and new robot designs are impressive!
FREE-TO-PLAY: Xemo is moving from paid to free-to-play. Not to worry if you paid for the game we'll take care of you. In the future, we'll be releasing robot parts kits and the Xemo Robot Builder - paid DLC for the game. All Steam players that purchased the game prior to August 1st, 2017 will get free access to the new DLC to match or exceed their game purchase. We thank you for your support and continued interest is seeing Xemo evolve.

Xemo is excited to introduce 3 new robots! The new robots are 4 legged with varying degrees of freedom. Sami, the simplest robot has four 1Dof joints. Buster, has 2Dof joints for each leg, plus a center body hinge joint to turn the body. Fido, looks somewhat like a walking piano
Xemo is excited to introduce 3 new robots! The new robots are 4 legged with varying degrees of freedom. Sami, the simplest robot has four 1Dof joints. Buster, has 2Dof joints for each leg, plus a center body hinge joint to turn the body. Fido, looks somewhat like a walking piano bench, has 12 DoF total.
You can shape movements for each of these new robots using the same motion editor and then test them out on the challenge floor. The new robots are easier to balance and get walking. Xemo, the biped, is still there to challenge your motion creating skills.
We've also replaced the Sequencer with a Hotkey motion list. You can assign motions to hot keys and play them back during the challenges interactively.
Included are some minor bug fixes to robot motion and the display of the joint centers. We've also revised the UI to make things simpler to use. The Player's Guide (a PDF) explains some of the changes to the new UI.
