We have some very exciting news to share with you: a new mystery adventure game starring Detective Grimoire and Sally is coming in 2024! There's a demo out now, and you can wishlist here:
In "The Mermaid's Tongue", the detective duo have been called to investigate the murder of Magnus Mortuga, captain of the world's strangest submarine. Found alone in a locked room, with only an ancient stone cauldron to suggest how he might have died, it's up to Detective Grimoire and Sally to piece together what really happened. Was it a curse, released from the cauldron? One of the submarine's eccentric crew? Or does the bizarre truth run even deeper...
The Tangle Tower dev team is back, and we have a few additions too! As well as all of SFB Games (that's, uh, me and my brother Adam), we have Catherine Unger's amazing environment art, Jonathan Harris' fluid character animations, and Raphael B. Meyer's stunning orchestral score. And of course, Edwyn Tiong and Amber Lee Connors are back as Grimoire and Sally. The suspects are a secret for now, we'll have more to share soon.
Joining us this time, we also have Kindra Dantone, who has done incredible work to realise the clues in full 3D this time! And Kitt Byrne, who's been bringing her wonderful illustration style to the puzzles - Kitt worked with us on Snipperclips too, so it's great to have her back!
We were so very excited to be able to first announce this new game as part of Double Fine's and iam8bit's Day of the Devs festival (The Game Awards edition!) - Adam and I got to travel from chilly London to LA to show the game (and our other upcoming game, Crow Country) in person to press and the public. The response there, and in general, has been overwhelming, what a perfect end to the year! Here's the preview video that was shown in the Day of the Devs digital showcase stream:

We've been quietly updating the game since launch, just small fixes and improvements so far. But today, we've released a bigger new feature as a free update:
The Tangle Tower Art Gallery
As you play, you'll unlock concept art, early designs and artists' notes for every character, location and clue in the game. Or, if you've finished the game already, you'll find everything unlocked for you - more details on that below if you're interested. Hope you enjoy the look at all the work that went into making Tangle Tower look the way it does!

Art Gallery unlocking
If you access the Art Gallery from the button on the title screen, it'll show content based on the progress of all three save slots combined. However, if you access it from the button in the case file menu while playing the game, it will only show content based on the progress in that save slot you have loaded. That means that if you already finished the game, you have the choice of either diving in and seeing everything from the title screen, or starting a new save slot and unlocking things as you go!

We've also released the Tangle Tower Original Soundtrack here on Steam! It's been available on Bandcamp for a little while now, but since Steam recently improved the way it handles soundtracks, we wanted to release it here too. And since it's a new release, it'll be 20% off for the first week!
Getting Achievements
If you've already played through the game, you have two options when getting achievements. They're granted based on save data, so if you just want to have the game give you all the achievements you would have gotten in your old playthrough, you can just load up that save data and you'll get them!
Alternatively, if you want to unlock them one by one, or find any you've missed, just create a new save in an empty slot and load that up. You'll be granted achievements as they come.

We've been steadily releasing small updates to Tangle Tower, mostly quality of life improvements to make the game smoother and more enjoyable for you. But we have our first content update coming soon: we're adding Steam Achievements to the game! I'll share more information closer to the update date, but we're hoping to have them live before the end of the year!
