Hello peeps, I'm going straight to the point with this!

New DLC announced: Beat Slapper Mode

This will turn Butt Slapper into a simple, yet very solid, rhythm game. Here's a peek into my current internal prototype:

With Beat Slapper you can load any song, or audio file for that matter, that you own and the game will generate a playable note pattern on the fly. Think of something like Audiosurf or Beat Hazzard. No modding needed, no manual song editing, just put your mp3 or wav files in the game folder and the game will let you play it.

You can of course use any Butt in your Steam Inventory.

The Beat Slapper DLC already works 100%, but I need to work in the UI side to make it look great. No release date announced but could be in a couple weeks.

Inventory Deletion Test

Many people have requested this. And it wasn't easy, for me at least, but I got something going. If you are one of those who doesn't want gang to know you fudge with the butt slapping, I am currently testing an inventory deletion functionality. In order to use it you first need to enable the "unstable" branch, which will download an unstable version of the game.

But please, only do this if you truly want to completely destroy your whole Butt Slapper inventory. There is absolutely no way to undo this. I am not responsible if you even do this by accident. Valve does not make it easy to delete inventories, especially big inventories. The process takes a while and could be error prone. If you do this, you can leave a message in the #butt-slapper channel of my discord so that I know if it's working well. Once again, this is an unstable feature that needs more testing, unless you truly do not care about your Steam Inventory, do not use this yet. Wait until I test it more and push it to the Default Public branch of the game.

You will find the Delete Inventory option in the Crate Lab.

Steam Deck support

I'm working on it these days as well. The game already works decent enough on a Deck, but the experience isn't great. With the coming of Beat Slapper I thought it'd be a great oportunity to polish this aspect. I'm adopting Steam Input to let you remap the controls to whatever device you want with ease.

new event when

I can't make promises here. I don't discard the possibility of making new events with new limited Butts, but I'm not planning on doing this in the near future. I understand many here are mainly interested in this aspect of the game, but I am not to be completely honest! I will make new Butts when I feel inspired and motivated to do so, and at this moment that's not the case. I might make a couple new Butts for the DLC though, but don't quote me on that just yet.

Hello epic steamers. It's me, the guy that makes this dumb game coming to you with some things to say. I will update the game with the Halloween event in a few days. But there won't be new Butts. I know it hurts! I'm sorry. Allow me to blurt out a lot of words to at least offer some explanations.

Why no new butts?

Because I didn't have the time, and I do sincerely apologize :(. My focus these months has been on Amarillo's Desktop Pets, the game I've been working on since last year, which was the main thing I was wanting to put up on Steam.

This doesn't mean that Butt Slapper will never get new content updates, but I'm not in a place where I can make promises. Time is precious, and besides Desktop Pets, there are many other things I'm working on! But there's something that a few people here might consider good news.

The Ada plushie

The petition for the plushie went through, and the Plushie campaign is now live. If the plushie reaches at least 50 pre-orders, production will be fully confirmed! Even though the page says 100, I've been told that it's possible to produce it with as few as 50. Otherwise, you'll get your money back, so pre-orders are risk free.

News about my other projects

As some of you know, Desktop Pets got a healthy amount of whishlists, even before Butt Slapper blew up, so naturally it is my most important game. One of the main features requests I got from the demo was better VRM support. For those not in the know, VRM is a format for 3D characters, which is very popular among vtubers and modders (in games like Desktop Mate or Desktop Kanojo).

Not only I've completely reworked Desktop Pets to fully accept VRMs hassle free, I've also decided that I will 100% adopt VRM support for all my following games. Here are some sneak peeks for the VRM support I've integrated into my other projects, featuring Bunny Boba, my first test subject.

I'm proud to announce that after many weeks of human experimentation and genetic splicing, I have finally been able to produce the first viable specimen of the upper human section. Introducing, the only of its kind: The Boob Butt.

Manly love

You've slapped millions of round, soft and juicy butts, but those are games for little kids. There comes a time in the life of a man when he must look himself in the mirror. Face his own demons. Perhaps even admire his own butt at least once (we've all done it, don't lie). Slappers, I'm not gonna lie to you, this will be your toughest challenge yet. You will slap yourself.

Which is why I'm finally adding a bunch of man Butts! Here's how that will work. You will keep getting your regular Butt Crates most of the time -which contain only female butts- but there's a smaller chance you'll get a new Man Butt Crate. These will be rarer, though not limited to any event. You'll always be getting a few of those.

If you do not dare look inside the Butt of You, you can always exchange the Man Butt Crates for some AMACoin, or just sell them on the market.

I have added a new option in the Settings menu. Filters. These will let you completely hide Nude and Male Butts from the game. I might introduce other filters in the future.

The Holidays Butt Crate is officially out of circulation. No more Holidays for us!

The drop rates website is still not 100% up to date. It will probably take me one extra day working on it with the current rates and butts.

Lastly, I'll enable Steam Cloud again in around a week. The save system seems to be working as best as I can squeeze it, so it might be time. Steam Cloud will only sync your slaps, upgrades and backgrounds. Your inventory is always saved to the Inventory Service. If you'd like to be extra safe, you can make a backup of your current save file. Here's where to find it.

One more thing!

Some of you might have already seen this one in my socials.

I like making jokes (even at my own expense) and parodies of some trends. While that's more or less the vibe with that announcement, it is also true that I have plans for many more games in the near future. I've been thinking about what a hypothetical Amarillo's Butt Slapper 2 would be, and I came up with some ideas that I would have a lot of fun making. But that's still a ways off, so don't expect any news about it during this year. Just rest assured I'm not gonna be pulling an Overwatch 2 on you. This Butt Slapper will forever remain the little flawed but charming game that it is right now.

Let me come forward and share my latest L with you all. TL;DR: there's no Butt Slapper team anymore. It's just me now, like the good old days (a month ago).

What happened?

Nothing dramatic, just a mix of personal life decisions and money. Let's just say, I can't really afford a team :'V

What does this mean for Butt Slapper?

I'm going to scale development down. I won't work on new features, unless they're really necessary.

I'm also probably not going to fix the issues with the Butt Exchange system; because it's a very complex programing task that goes beyond my skills as a developer (in my defense, Valve's Inventory Service is REALLY complex to work with).

And I will very likely not do custom hand skins.

Will the game keep getting updates?

Yes. I will keep making content. That is, Butts, events, backgrounds and art.

What will you focus on then?

While I'm going to reduce the time I spend developing Butt Slapper, I will start pouring more resources into my next projects. That is mainly Desktop Pets.

Sorry about the bad news! Things sometimes don't work the way you plan them. But my love for this project and my commitment to the community isn't changing. As long as you keep enjoying this little game, I'll keep making new content.

The Slap Shop

I have created a new section for the Crate Lab menu called The Slap Shop. Here you'll be able to buy different animated backgrounds for the game using your Slaps. I will also be adding more interesting backgrounds in the future!

Butt Exchange

Also in the Crate Lab, you'll find the Butt Exchange menu, where you can "sell" any Butt you want to get rid of, and get some AMACoin in return. This is great if you want to order some Holiday Butt Crates using that AMACoin!

Bye bye, Spooky Butt Crate

After almost a month since Halloween, it's past time I phased this Crate out. Now, instead of getting Spooky Butt Crates, you'll be getting Holidays Butt Crates at the same rate. If you own a bunch of Spooky Butt Crates, they will still be good to open and trade. The only thing that has changed is that there isn't a way to generate new Spooky Butt Crates anymore. At least until the next Halloween event comes!

New save system

We worked on yet another new save system. As I, Amarillo, am not a great programmer, the new Butt Slapper team worked on this. I sincerely hope this brings to an end the repeated issues people with unstable power sources have been having all this time.

New original soundtrack

My buddy Mutante Robot composed a few original tracks for the game. These are stream-friendly (even if the game isn't so too much), so fear no copyright claims. While Mutante made 99% of the music, I did personally step in to play the bass lines.

That's it for now! Little by little the development of Butt Slapper will be handed to the yet-to-be-named Game Studio of the friend I have partnered with. I will keep working on the Butts and art, but the code and maintenance will be in better hands.

I'm sorry to all the people that have been experiencing problems with the saves!
