Other:

Flame Totem (attack speed) has been temporarily disabled in duos due to the attack speed buff not transferring to teammate nor the database.
Fixes:

Fixed a bug where Cinnamon would not buff Jalapeño and Cayenne.
Now properly de-selects Cinnamon when you click on any loadout.
The bullets from Quinoa blast will only spawn particle effects as long as there are less than 32 bullets on screen. (To try to avoid crashing in massive quinoa-blasts in duos.)
As always, the PvP environment might contain unchanged crops for a few hours until it settles.

The new crop and changes make up the new "Impairment" archetype, that consists mainly of Cinnamon, Liquorice, Grapes and optionally Blueberry/Lemon.

Added a "solo" pvp button to indicate that solo is currently selected unless "Duos" is clicked. This was not 100% intuitive for new players as there was only a button saying "duos".
Added "Casual" and "Ranked" text in the choose-screen for better clarity.
Bugfixes:

Fixed a bug where enemy butternut squash would not buff enemy 3-tile crops.

In this update 2 new crops are introduced!

Balance changes:

🟢Blueberry: Ability now says "On death: Freeze nearby enemies".
🔴Broccoli: 0.52 attackspeed --> 0.44 attackspeed.

Other:

Quality of life feature: If you try to quick-plant (by pressing an empty box) when having 0 crops left of the last planted crop, the game will simply choose another crop in your basket to quick-plant. This comes in handy when you have 2 crops left, and you want to quick-plant both of them without having to drag the other one down.
Changed the background in all menus.
Added a QoL effect when hovering buttons and combat rewards.
Added page numbers to the crop collection screen.

🟡Slow mechanic reworked: No longer freezes when slowing for a second time. Instead, each slow will apply a stacking reduction to attackspeed (-0.05 attack speed per slow stack, capped at 0.10 attackspeed). Slow is now always permanent. //Dev comment: The freeze mechanic was fun to experiment with. It might come back as a crop-specific ability in the future, but for now, the grapes permafreeze was not fun to play against.
Other:

Added artist credits to all crops in the collection screen.
Adjusted the price to buy some crops (generally a little bit cheaper).
Made it possible to see crops abilities before you buy them, instead of keeping them secret.
Restructured the player icon screen with some new navigation buttons.
Every 3rd tick of drought will now increase drought damage by 1. This is to avoid Venus Flytraps with tons of damage making infinite rounds.
Rating system has been changed a bit for season 3: The requirements for ranks has increased:
Bronze: <1000 rating
Silver: 1000-1199 rating
Gold: 1200-1399 rating
Emerald: 1400-1599 rating
Diamond: 1600-1799 rating
Master: 1800-1999 rating
Grandmaster: 2000+ rating
Fixes:

Fixed a bug where the fiery ghost pepper player icon would not show properly in games.
Fixed a bug where lemon projectiles could be seen flying off-screen after the battle.
Hopefully fixed a bug where balance totem would not give unlimited range as expected.
Avocado infobox now correctly says "+2 DMG per unique adjacent root"
Hopefully fixed a rare bug that made the game crash for a few people on launch (caused by some corrupted file in the cache).
Expect balance changes and fixes in the coming days.
As usual, the PvP environment might still have old/unchanged crops from the old season. Give it a few hours to settle :)

In my endeavour to make more refined and better synergies in the game, fruits and roots are getting some love and changes!
Balance and changes:

🔴Armor is no longer a "counter" that is stackable. Armor is now simply a buff that makes a crop take -1 damage. Walnut now says "Has Armor" and flow totem says "Gives Armor". //Dev comment: This is essentially a "revert" of the armor stacking made possible in the last update, since it was too strong to have 2 armor on anything.

As always, remember that the PvP environment takes a few hours to settle in with the new changes, so you might still see old/unnerfed crops in ranked.

A new patch just landed.
Balance:

🟢Dragonfruit: 530 Range --> 600 Range
🔴Starfruit: 9HP --> 7HP
🔴Apple: 2.5 movespeed --> 1.8 movespeed
🟡Garlic rework: 1.8 movespeed --> 2.0 movespeed | 20HP --> 17HP | Ability changed to: "Has immunity (3s)" | Shape changed to reverse starfruit shape. //Dev comment: Even though the drought ability was very innovative and cool in theory, it just wasn't healthy for the meta. Many people disliked it, and having an ability that basically counters every ranged combo is just too strong. We have cherry/agility/immunity that does that, but more balanced. Now it's just a pretty decent tank unit that synergizes with starfruit, as their shapes fit perfectly (the immunity also gives starfruit some time to charge!)
🟢Orange: 8HP --> 9HP | 400 range --> 450 range | 0.40 attackspeed --> 0.43 attackspeed //Dev comment: The slow removal from orange made it severely underperform. It is now getting some compensation in stats.
🟡/🟢Speed Totem rework: Now gives crop to the left unlimited range and crop to the right charge. Name changed to: Balance Totem. //Dev comment: The speed totem has just always been inferior compared to all other totems. This makes it a viable option, as many builds rely on unlimited range.
Other changes:

Added the option to switch between type-view and compact-view in the loadout screen.
Christmas drops has been made a bit more likely to obtain. Legendary --> Epic | Epic --> Rare
The loadout can now only be edited from the play menu, and not in the collection tab. It was simply too much work to have it there, so i'd rather remove it for now and focus my time on new features.
Fixes:

Fixed a bug where non-English languages would cause errors.
Duos player database now properly expanded by 50%. (wasn't applied in duos by mistake)
Knockback buff has been removed as it was causing issues over and over. It will be replaced with a new reward that I've been cooking on.
*Keep in mind that old/unchanged crops might still linger in the PvP environment until new builds are uploaded. It will settle in some hours.

Each crop now has a type. Some crops now interact with certain crop types.
Currently working on adding bonuses when having multiple of the same type. This is not yet done though.

New mechanic: Freeze.
When slowing a target who is already slowed, the target will be frozen for 3s (it can't do anything while frozen).
Balancing and changes:
🟡 Mushroom: Name changed to Redcap. //Dev comment: Same reasoning as Chili rename to Cayenne. I don't want crops to have "general" names now that there are crop types in the game. This should be the last rename of older crops though.
🟢Cabbage: Ability changed to "+4HP per adjacent Root".
🟢Corn: Ability changed to "+2DMG per 3 adjacent Grain".
🟢Eggplant: Ability changed to "unlimited range if touching Nut".
🟢Carrot: Ability changed to "+3HP per adjacent Leafy".
🟢Lemon: Ability changed to: "+1 DMG if touching Exotic"
🟡 Grapes: 0.52 attackspeed --> 0.33 attackspeed | 2 DMG --> 3 DMG //Dev comment: the new freeze mechanic is an interesting addition to grapes. To balance it out, it now has lower attack speed and 1 extra dps.
🟢Broccoli: Projectile volley radius slightly lowered.
🔴Orange: No longer slows.
🟢Pumpkin: 11HP --> 12HP.
Other:

The number of crops you can buy in the demo of the game increased to 5 from 4.
A few new animations added when planting crops that buff adjacent crops.
Fixes:

The new music in the game has been made a bit louder. It was rather low by mistake.
Hopefully fixed a bug where cherry was immune to knockback while it was attacking.
Expect more balancing to be made in the coming week.

Music patch
Music patch! Added 5 new soundtracks - one for each island. The new soundtracks are more atmospheric than the last one - and a unique track for each island makes the game feel less repetitive! The soundtracks will now smoothly transition between battle music and plant-phase music

The new soundtracks are more atmospheric than the last one - and a unique track for each island makes the game feel less repetitive!
The soundtracks will now smoothly transition between battle music and plant-phase music.
All sounds/music in the game has been turned into stereo rather than mono, creating a more emersive experience.
Other:

If a crop has 50% or more crit chance, it will now display a red crit icon rather than the regular.
If you are in a duos lobby, you will stay in the lobby between each game.
Fixes:

Fixed a bug where you could see info about Grapes before purchasing it.
Fixed a bug where chamomile infobox did not show up.
