Given how unknown Pryzm is, there isn't much gameplay footage for those wondering what kind of game this is. For those who have attempted a True Pryzm run, it is immediately obvious that the enemies are much more difficult and require a different strategy compared to Normal difficulty. While most enemies could be brute forced through with spamming Attack or even using Escape, enemies no
For those who have attempted a True Pryzm run, it is immediately obvious that the enemies are much more difficult and require a different strategy compared to Normal difficulty. While most enemies could be brute forced through with spamming Attack or even using Escape, enemies now hit harder and have new actions. New enemies such as the Drainer type in the screenshot above not only attack but can also absorb precious clarity.
Since starting clarity is significantly lower in True Pryzm, this means that it is almost necessary to do some clarity absorption from enemies during a True Pryzm run, The good news is that almost all enemy types contain more clarity to be absorbed by the player as well. (Hint: The leech type enemies are the best for this because they are weaker and give more opportunities for clarity stealing.) Learning to manipulate the risk probability becomes more crucial. Absorbing some clarity then escaping is also a valid strategy.
Of course, it is important to also find what works for your play style. Some enemies are just not worth fighting in True Pryzm. But since HP resets with every new battle, you can afford to give yourself some room for experimentation and errors. (As a side note, True Pryzm originally featured persistent HP, meaning you have to maintain HP throughout the run, not just for that one battle. But I decided it would make the game too difficult.) Remember: it doesn't matter if you beat or escaped an enemy with 1 HP left, it still counts as a success.

The final rank is calculated based on the total points.
Below 20 points: E
20 to under 40 points: D
40 to under 60 points: C
60 to under 80 points: B
80 to 100 points; A
Above 100 points: S
Also, if your ending rank is green in color, it means it is a no continue clear and the time qualifies for the leaderboards. Do note that rank based timings are only counted for B and above. Timings for ALL do not take into account rank, so you can ignore all the above criteria if going for pure speed. Good luck!

Randomness is a challenge facing all who are trapped in the Pryzm. It is the result of the entity Dzyll altering space and time. But it did not count on some humans to have the ability to circumvent it. it is why events can be redone (at the cost of clarity) once it has been observed.
This doesn't apply to just finding items. It also applies to the probability of avoiding enemies. For example, in Richard's A scenario, he is often attacked by a tainted even if he attempts to avoid it. By redoing the same scenario, his chance of avoiding increases until it eventually becomes guaranteed. This works for many other such events.
However, one major factor that shapes the Pryzm happens at the very beginning of the story, the first act to be exact, the one that many players tend to skip through. Depending on the choice on the first night as seen above, players can lock in some parameters in advance. For example, many have discovered that talking to Lindsay grants an increase in starting clarity.
But choosing the others have their advantages too. Talking to Greg and Ann will ensure Ann always finds the locket in her A scenario IF the locket is located in the forest, while Greg is always guaranteed to avoid the various tainted in his D scenario.
And talking to Richard ensures he always avoids enemies in his A scenario, finds the hidden basement in his B scenario, while Sara will always make it to the altar in her C scenario. What Kyle does the following morning also impacts later parts of the story...
Each of these boosts have their specific advantages and will significantly improve a run if those are your goals. Use this knowledge to plan your next run and make it out with a better time and rank!

Anyone who has played Pryzm will know how precious clarity is. It usually only keeps depleting. However, there are various items scattered around the world, such as the voice recorder above. When found, it INCREASES clarity by 20. The challenge is that the location of such items is changed with every New Game.
You can certainly attempt to find them by revisiting stages, but each visit costs more and more clarity. So there needs to be a decision whether you want to search for them as part of your strategy or to head straight for the end goal.
There are some items that remain in the same area, such as the diary above. Spoiler hint:The key to the door it is located behind is in the very same house, so you only need to redo that scene once if you didn't find it the first time. Definitely worth the clarity spent, even with a pesky enemy encounter.
Be warned. There are some items and paths that DECREASE clarity. Not everything is worth picking up when making a run (unless you want to unlock a specific path, discover lore, or get item achievements). If you know something reduces clarity, don't pick it up again! But you will NEED certain key items to get the best ending in True Pryzm...

Changes in this mode include:
True Pryzm will test all that you've learnt from Normal mode and challenge the strategy that you will follow. There is more than one way to make it out and it is dependent on what you are trying to achieve. Are you merely trying to escape? Are you trying to save specific survivors? Are you aiming for the fastest completion time? Or are you going for the best rank of S? Whatever it is, give this mode a try when you're ready. Normal and True Pryzm have their own leaderboards. Can you get the best times in both?
Note: Continue+ works for True Pryzm as well, but there is only one Continue+ active at any time. So starting a New Game in Normal will wipe the one for True Pryzm and vice versa.

Do note that this will speed through text and events that you may not have seen before. Use it at your own discretion! It also does not make speedrun timings faster as it also speeds up the internal game clock, so it still qualifies for the leaderboards. Lastly, fast forward only works within each game mode that has been completed at least once.

Every new game changes certain parameters that requires a slightly different escape strategy. The overall story is generally the same, but how you survive it varies, especially if aiming for a good rank or specific achievements. Pryzm offers players some help if they find it too difficult. This is where Continue+ comes in.
Continue+ mode only appears just after you complete an entire game or get a game over, replacing the regular Continue auto-save file. Selecting it puts you back into the game at the start of the second act while retaining every parameter from the previous game. So if you discovered a path that gave you a bonus item or a quicker way to avoid enemies previously, those paths are still the same in Continue+! This will allow you to better plan how to make it to the ending and possibly achieve a better rank. Hindsight is indeed 20/20. And you get an increase in starting clarity too, effectively making every Continue+ easier and easier.
Do note that any form of continuing disqualifies the run from the online leaderboard, but qualifies for all achievements not requiring a 1CC. Also, starting a New Game will make this option disappear. Why would you do this instead of using Continue+? Because many of the parameters of the game are actually set by your choices in the first act, so you may want to start a new game to re-arrange the parameters based on your goals.
