Dear Players,
I want to let you know that in one month, the PIXELS server will be shut down, and the project will come to an end, one year and three months after its release. Fewer and fewer people are logging into the game, and the server costs are no longer sustainable. Since the game became free-to-play, it has stopped generating revenue.
PIXELS has been a small but valuable experience for me in game development. I am deeply grateful to each of you — the players who created stories, competed, shared feedback, and supported the game throughout this journey. Especially to those few individuals who helped during the beta testing phase, participated after the release, and still occasionally log in to play!
As a farewell gift, I’ve made a small adjustment: for the remaining month, the pixel and super-pixel timers will be reduced to just 1 second.
When the servers are shut down, the current state of the canvas will be saved and uploaded into a client version of the game in a “read-only” format. This way, you can influence the final masterpiece that will forever remain in PIXELS!
With gratitude,
The PIXELS Team, represented by Alexander Gromyko
