Developer posts and news about this game.
Three of the most influential games from my childhood were Pokémon HeartGold, Amnesia: The Dark Descent , and Outlast . Knowing this, you could probably piece together the kind of person I have become—let's just say it explains a lot. So it brought a smile to my face when I learn
Outlast has long since established itself as a horror gaming staple with an impressive track record of two mainline games, a DLC, and an online multiplayer game that still scares the bejesus out of me. So it's hard to believe that there was a time when developer Red Barrels was u
Red Barrels' Outlast series has long held a reputation for pushing the envelope further than most horror games, with depictions of violence, gore and nudity that can be shocking even within a medium well versed in delivering scares. But it isn't just audiences who have found the

Have You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day, perhaps for all time. I will never understand why Outlast caused such a stir back in 2013, more so after playing its sequel. I suppose I get why folks liked it: playing a videogame version of all
I can't write about Outlast 2 without recalling Tim's ' charred baby pit ' preview headline, which perfectly captures the tone of Red Barrels' survival horror sequel. Pitches like that are a hard mould to break, I imagine, particularly when the series in question has sold 15 mill
Fans of the Outlast series were treated to a stack of news yesterday evening, all tucked into a post on the game's official Facebook page. After declaring the series en route to Nintendo's Switch console in the new year, Red Barrels said it has no plans to extend number two by wa

Ah, the early tensies! Cast your mind back to an era when a Slender Man lurked in every corner, crazed diary entries littered the streets, and Nicola Roberts was making a real go of a solo career. Of all the first-person stealth-o-spookers that followed Amnesia and old balloonhea
Red Barrels' scare fest Outlast 2 may stand as an indirect follow-up to its forerunner it s set in the same universe , but breaks from the first s show-stealing Mount Massive Asylum setting and follows a different cast of characters but a new five-issue comic book series aims to
Have You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day of the year, perhaps for all time. As a survival horror fan, I was at first willing to overlook the asylum-set Outlast s stigmatisation of issues of mental health because it was a concept I thought
Else Heart.Break() I was burned out on Humble Bundles after the first couple. In part it was because my cup runneth over with games I've never installed and bundles contribute to Steam library shame in a big way. But there's also the fact that the quality is highly variable from
